Just wondering how many actually read this particular message board? I posted last night (never been here before) and no responses...hmmmm

Topic: RE: Need some encouragement
GR, I think this is great advice. I've only lost 48 lbs but the way I figure it, if I can keep pushing on the exercise, something's gotta give here sooner or later. I've read recently that many people experience an extended plateau in their 3rd or 4th month.
Wendy -- best wishes to you. I have this for myself that the key is progress not perfection. I think the major is to be the one in charge of what you're eating so if you need a treat every now and then maybe try to find a way to integrate into your plan rather than eating on impulse.
Best,
Kathy
Topic: depression
anyone going thru a depression? i have been going thru one for over a week and am wondering if this is due to the surgery, or what
oh, and p.s., my hair is falling out too . . . i may just shave it off, its short allready . . . who knows
Topic: RE: Has everyone started losing their hair?
Ok, I have to be the oddball of the group. I think I was so stressed before surgery that I lost lots of hair. However, I've noticed that it's greatly slowed down after surgery. My surgery was in August of 2003, and at this time it's coming out just as it normally would.
I was truly scared because my hair is thin and fine to begin with, so this has been a true blessing to me.
Keep in mind that the average person loses at least 100 hairs per day anyway; it's a continual cycle. It may be just that the more we stress about it, the more noticeable it becomes.
Don't worry, though...No one has gone completely bald!
Take care, everybody!

Topic: First time posting here
HI
I usually post to the Texas board--didnt know this board was here. Anyways, just wanted to say hello to everyone that had surgery around the time I did.
I am still adjusting to eatting post op. (have suffered from severe nausea and throwing up) but all that is getting better. At this point post op btc says im supposed to have lost between 20-25% of my excess weight and I have lost 35% so Im ahead
I do not have good eatting habits but Im working on that. I do not eat enough I should say. Anyways, I am very happy with the weight loss and I feel 'thin' compared to before. I have bones i didnt even know I had
I hope everyone is doing great at whatever point they are in this journey to health.

Wendy;
Don't beat yourself up...your only human....and at least you realize what your doing....your consious about what you put in your mouth...like everyone said...we had surgery on our stomaches NOT our brain....just pick yourself up...dust off....and get back on the right road to your success...your doing an amazing job....You have lost 71 lbs. that is a great achivement and you should be proud of yourself....I have only lost 49 lbs....OK...Here's what my openion is about what you should do...make a deal with yourself ..if you cheat and eat something you know is bad for you ..you will increase your excersize ...whether is a couple more minutes on a the treadmill or a couple more blocks of walking...but if you cheat you will pay the price...by a few more minutes of excersize. Good luck and keep up the great work.
