I keep phazyme or gas-x tabs in my desk, both at home and at work. My sister, who had her surgery a year before I did, said to me remember one thing: "Phazyme is your friend." Hell, I didn't know what she was talking about, but I sure found out. Some of the sweeteners do seem to encourage gas or the trots. even this far out, its trial and error - I made myself extremely sick by accident while in the grocery store by just being dumb. Sugar alcohols are just as bad - maybe even worse than - sugar is. When I am looking at the sugar grams on the label, I count the grams of sugar alcohols. I do *not* like being sick, whi*****ludes gas and includes dumping.

Hi all. I am down to 132 pounds. Started at 277 size 32 and now a size 8. I am below goal of the chart weight for my height of about 5 pounds. I was wondering if any of you have trouble with the sugar alcohol in the sugar free items we can eat. I have been bothered lately with some bad GAS and i mean BAD GAS. It used to not bother me. I ate a sugar free birthday cake that my boss had me made from the bakery and it liked to have killed me. Within two hours i was in some serious pain. It took hours to pass. I mean hours. It was bad. Does it bother anyone else? I am trying to maintain now by adding carbs back in. I canot toloerate the sugar thing. It is a good thing because sugar was my problem. Be careful eating donuts etc as some of you are talking about. My doctor's nurse said if you eat a small amount of sugar each day then the body adjusts to letting you eat the stuff. I do not want to return to eating sugar, and gaining the weight back. Just a thought. Have a good one. Debbie

Topic: RE: Still Losing??
I know what you mean. I am now under chart weight for my height of about 5 pounds. I am still loosing at a slower pace. I am eating during the night if i wake up. Eating all dy long to try to stop loosing. Adding carbs etc. I have maintained for two weeks now. I am boney in the kneck and chest area. Dousn't look right. I need some meat back on. I cannot believe i am at this point. Never dreamed i would be worried about getting too small. I am in 8's and that is small enough for me. I am 5'4" and weigh 132 pounds. that is small enough for me. I never dreamed i would be this small. a 14 was my goal. Hang in there. Debbie

You won't go bald, although it is very scary. My sister has very very thin hair and the hair loss was bad for her, but she now looks terrific and her long very lovely blonde hair is back in full *swing*. Just keep that protein going in, and a Biotin supplement will help with making the new hair growth nice and strong. [contrary to popular belief, it won't stop the hair from falling, but it will make the hair stronger and healthier as it grows]

[comes and gives Cara a biggggg hug] It is nice to see you again. Now here is the deal. You can start losing again. Hell, I have been on a plateau for MONTHS. You have to not slack on the water, protein and vitamins. These are the building blocks that help you to lose weight. I finally have begun to lose again but I start each day with my coco protein tea recipe. It takes me time to drink it down, but I drink the entire mug by 10 am. I make mine with 1 scoop GNC chocolate 100% whey protein, 4 oz milk. I brew a cup of either chai spice or almond sunset tea, about 10 ounces. I mix it all together. I make sure I do at least two of these each and every day. It tastes good and makes me get liquids AND protein down. Start walking. WALKING, like around the park, around the mall, walk someplace at least half hour going and coming. I have a cardio walker I use when I am not outside. Aside from all that, I sometimes take a *break from food* day. I start the day with the protein shake, but then I stick with just creamy food for that day, like cream of wheat, yogurt, that type of thing. Then the next day, I start with a diet that I know will help me to lose, such as red or green vegetables, chicken or fish [beef once a week; it's harder to digest]. You are gonna do just fine! Try not to be depressed. I know that's easier said than done, because I get there too, but I fight not to! Good luck and God bless!
