Topic: Getting back to basics..for those last few lbs....
I recently had an irritated tummy and had to go back to liquids and soft foods for two days. It was kinda nice. Not only did i start loosing weight again, I liked the simplicity. Not too mucht to think about when there's only so much you can eat. One thing that i came to discover is that i was eating too much starch and starch will slow down weight loss. I recently consulted with my nutritionist and she told me one starch per meal, fruit or veggie and protien. Once i started applying that, the pounds have started coming off again. Just some food for thought. I only have 20 more lbs to go to my goal! Good luck to you all, Charity 300/175/150

Topic: Anyone relying on a Commercial Diet Plan to Take off the Final Pounds?
I am 16 months out and have lost 80 of my goal of 113 lbs. I haven't lost any weight in a long time and I've changed up my exercise and I've also documented my food, etc. I get lost in grazing sometimes and I thought about trying NutriSystem or something like that to help me re-discipline my intake. Assuming I can get the protein I need, does anyone have any experience with this? Help!! Thanks!!

Well, I ha surgery 11/25/03 and am down 221. Not too shabby. Had my abdominoplasty 10 days ago. My father in law told me today that if anyone has not seen me in a year that they would not recognize me. LOL Chris 396/175/165

My guess is that everyone is getting "skinny" and their need for support is diminishing. I know that I don't post as much as I used to. Also, as our weight loss slows, we tend to not have as much to report. I read a lot of other people's posts, but rarely reply unless I think I have something signifacant to say. Cecil

Topic: RE: Anyone started losing again after 18 months?
Thanks Tracy! I ran again this evening after work. We went about 4 miles. I can't quite run the whole way without walking some, but I can run a mile before I have to walk. I walk a little bit each mile. I've only been running for a few weeks. It gets easier every time. We have a beautiful park here will trials that wind through the woods along side a river. It's amazing. Keep at it, it won't be long before you'll be running that 5K. I never dreamed I would be running for fun. But I love it! Cecil

Wow!! way to go Cecil ! Running is something I have always dreamed of doing. I would like to some day, run in a small marathon. For now, Iam working and working out at curves. I also am up to 5km walks 3x a week.I just started doing that jog for a minute walk for four minute thing to increase my stamina. I can't wait to be able to run that 5km. Bye for now .Tracey.

I haven't lost anything since October. I work out at least 3 times a week. I think I'm putting on muscle. I measured by body fat and 3 months ago and it was at 19%. I measured it again recently and it was at 16%, which is very good. I'm not too worried about the weight loss stopping, but I am 10 pounds short of my goal. I would at least like to reach my goal. But, hey I look and feel great. I ran 6 miles on Saturday and I am going running after work today. Good luck to you! Cecil 338/170

Topic: I need help..........part II
Here was my original post........... "I had my surgery 11/03. I have lost 145 lbs. I started at 435 and now 295. This is only 53% of my excess weight loss. I don't know what to do. I am not satisfied with these results. I need some advise. What should I do. I am desprate! ! ! ! Please help." I had some request more info. I am working out 2 maybe 3 times a week. I am not following any regular diet. I have really been slacking on water, protein, and vitamines. Is it too late for me to start loosing again, or would all the effort I put into this just be to maintain where I am at???? Cara

Topic: Question from November 2004 board...
Hello everyone, I had my surgery on Nov. 2, 2004. I've lost 66 pounds so far and I'm feeling awesome. My problem is hair loss. Could any of you tell me when this stage subsides? I don't have a lot of hair to begin with so I'm getting a bit nervous! Thanks for responding! Megan B
