Topic: HELP!!! Probelms with blood pressure and blood sugar!!!
I've been having problems with my blood sugar and blood pressure. They've been dropping! Extremely! My lowest blood sugar has been 31 and my lowest bp reading has been 88/62. I never had this problem before surgery! My PCP seems to think it is caused by dumping syndrome. Which, he gave me an article on and it seems to match it. But my surgeon only talked about dumping syndrome as something that could happen when you ate too much sugar, not regular food!!!! I'm just wondering if any one else is having any problems like this??? It seems that I had the WLS to make myself feel better, but all it had done is make me feel worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kristy 330/205

I have had this problem. I will try to explain it like my GYN did. She said that excess estrogen is stored in our fat cells. So, when we lose a lot of weight, then that extra estrogen is released into our body. Therefore, interferring with our periods. Be lucky in not having one. Mine was just the opposite. I had them more frequent and longer! Kristy

Hi all - just wondering if anyone has had the same experience with their cycles being messed up. I'm about 14 months post op and have lost 125 pounds or so, I've passed my goal and am doing great. I'm taking my iron and all supplements and cannot figure out why I haven't gotten my period for so long. I spotted for alittle bit last month and then it went away. I continue to to take Pregnancy tests to be sure, but they keep coming up negative. Does anyone else have this trouble? thanks!

I didn't look my license either--was up for a renewal so waited two hours in line so I could get a new pic rather than doing an Internet renewal.

I didn't seem to need a lot of documantion for some reason. It depended on what "grade" your pannus is and also helps if you have a hernia. My insurance company approves over a grade 2 (bc/bs keystone hmo). I just called and asked my pcp for a referral, picked an in network (actually I hated the first guy) plastic surgeon and made an appointment. The inital diagnosis for the consult was pannus and hernia repair. At the ps's office they examined me and took pictures (a must with almost all insurance companies). Two weeks later they approved me. Hope that helps

I went to a club Saturday night and the bouncer would not let me in. I had to tell him about the surgery and my 175 lb. weight loss just to get in the door of the club. Melissa 314/139
