Topic: I called the Maury show....
I know, sounds corny, but I called the show this evening after seeing the post on the main message board and I spoke with a lady and told her a little about me. She asked me to email her my before and after photos and I did this evening. Now I am just waiting to MAYBE hear something back from them.
Topic: RE: How do you stop??
The other posts were great but I have also been told that we can expect to lose 10-20 lbs more than necessary and then gain it back. I am now 1 lb. under my goal and not looking forward to gaining.

Thank you Laura,
You look amazing. You are soooo close to your goal. I'm starting at the same weight 5'5 240! I can't believe how much weight you've lost in one year. I can't wait to do many of things I use to do. I have 2 boys ages 2 & 6...I can't wait to really play with them.... skiing... skating...windsurfing!
Thanks your inspiring words!

I've come to this board for inspiration. I was on the Nov2004 board and wasn't getting much from that then I thought Nov 2003 how are they doing? You all had WLS almost one year ago Nov! The first post I read has a problem SHE CAN'T STOP LOSING a new problem from last year! I can't explain what I felt when I read that post. It reminded me of college during finals I'd lose 3-5 lbs and the comments started coming a tug of my jeans and "oh you're getting too thin' ( i was just fine 127lbs @ 5'5). People always have something to say...but you know what I can't wait for those comments...too thin..."yes and I feel great" is reply I want to say 1 year from now. anorexia i don't want but slender & healthy yes yes yes!!
Congratulations to all you losers I can't wait to be like you!!

Congratulations!!!
I get a lot of weird looks and second glances from people who haven't seen me in a while. Its kind of funny
.
One day my twin sister and I went to the store and someone asked who I was, she didn't recognize me and thought I was her daughter.
Keep up the good work.

I'm sure you're all experiencing the same experience I had last night. My husband and I went to a wedding reception last night. At first people didn't recognize me and then when they figured it out I got hugs and wows. Everyone told me I looked wonderful and so young. That feels good, especially when you're 52. One of my son's friends told me I looked hot.
Needless to say I had a wonderful time, thanks to this wonderful surgery. Pat

Topic: RE: Where are your pictures?
I have new pictures on my site. It took forever to get them there. I went and got the picture the doctor took the week before surgery.
Wow is all i can say.
From 32 to size 10-12 is amazing.

Topic: RE: You look great vs: I don't...
I feel the same way. I know wear a size 16 pants (not a W) and I am reluctant to buy anything. I feel like I will automatically start putting the weight back on and it would be a waste.
I am being unreasonable, I know that. But after so many failures, I too cannot come to grips with the "new" me. I still act like I weigh almost 400lbs. It is infuriating to both me and some of the people I am around.
We just have to make the conscious decision to enjoy it. That is the conclusion I have come to. Just not sure how to start either.
Any suggestions?

I'm waiting for mine to get posted. I had to dig through my archives to find a full body before picture. I spent so many years hiding from the camera, and about the only pics I had were head shots. Both pictures happen to be with my son. You can see the change in both of us. He's now 6' and towers above me...lol.
