I set a goal weight of 150, which I am now 3 lbs away from and I wanted to be a size 8. Well, I am now a size 4/6. I had secondary "goals" which were to be a happier and healthier wife and mother and I think those are the ones that matter the most and are also the ones I am proudest to say I have achieved. I had my WLS 10/6/03 and ended up having a hysterectomy on 3/30/04 with my gall bladder taken out too (scheduled them with both surgeons so I would only have one time off of work and one surgery). I am so very pleased I did this and wished I would have done it sooner. You will do fine with your upcoming surgery. God Bless

I am not dehydrated with fatigue and muscle aches. I have FIBROMYALGIA! Now don't that just beat all. He didn't say why I have gained a whopping 20lb his scale said I weigh 210! in Sept I weighed 175 how can this be????boy am I depressed. I quit seeing my WLS DR back in March when he told me I would be a failure at WLS when I showed up in his office 10lbs shy of what he wanted. He then went on to say You'll maybe get down to 190 lbs but you'll end up being 220. That day I quit going to him. perhaps he was right?? I was determined to not let him be right. here in one month I am exactly where he said I would be. I just feel like crap right now. Deborah

Goals?? were we suppose to set goals?? my first goal was to get off all my medicine (diabetes; cholorestrol; and blood pressure) I did that within a month of surgery. I then reached what I wanted to weigh (180 lbs) and have lost even more. my blood pressure is back up don't know why; so I'm having it checked often; and I'll see my primary care on Friday. May be just the work environment I now weigh 169 lbs lost a total of 137 lbs; and wear a size 34 pants instead of a 48. I enjoy going to the gym and make it there at least 3 times a week if not more; and even enjoy taking the dog for an early morning jog on the weekends. life is good. mark g.

I have not met any of my goals yet, but still have 3 weeks. I am so close!!! 1st goal was to become a member of the century club, I am at -97 as of today. Next goal was to get a normal BMI of 25. I am 2 lbs away from this. Final goal was to weigh 135 lbs. I am 8 pounds from there. Will I reach these goals all by November 4th??? Probably not, but they are just numbers on the scale. I will get there, maybe even beyond. So what if I am a slow loser, we have the rest of our lives to get this weight off!!! Laura Lap RNY 11/4/03 240/143/???135

Stacy--please think two or three times before you let them operate on your back. I have been a healthcare worker (nurse and then nurse practitioner) for 23 years and I have seen back surgery actually help less than 10% of the people who have it!

I surpassed all my goals. I was 220 and wanted to be at 130 or a size nine. I am now at 112 and my size fours are getting a little big for me. I am also having a tummy tuck on November 9th. I never thought I would be this small again.

Hi, I am now 1/2 the person i was 1 year ago. i even weigh 26 lbs less than i did when i graduated high school in 85"!! i have now lost 130 lbs. and i am at goal and have been for over a month. i am done and very happy about it. i never in my wildest dreams thought that this was possible. i still think i will wake up and all this will have been a wonderful dream. i am so happy now, i have so much energy. although i have been told yesterday i have a herniated disc and several bulging discs in my back caused by from when i was heavy and i might have to have surgery. so i am feeling the after effects still. but i am still able to work out at curves 4 times a week so, we will take one day at a time. and i also wouldn't change a thing, this surgery was the best thing i ever did in my life and i want to shout it from the rooftops for everyone to hear!!
