Topic: RE: Goals for October
Thank you for reminding me that I need to set goals for every month. I get very complacent sometimes and it's good to have a little kick in the rear once in a while. I have been struggling with food choices lately but have balanced that somewhat with a major increase in exercise--I have started jogging two of my three miles that I used to walk every day and I can really see a difference in my shape--although the scale didn't show any change last month, I still feel happy with the direction my body is heading! So, my goal for this month will be to get my eating in line with my exercise and EAT MORE PROTEIN! Good luck to us all.

Topic: RE: plastic surgery ??
I am planning on having plastic surgery this November. Although I am going to Costa Rica to have mine done. I am going to have a tummy tuck with muscle repair & a breast lift with possible implants (not sure yet). I am taking a friend down with me & she is going to help nurse me back to health. The prices are so much better there & the standards for the surgeons are very high! Priscilla

At my brothers wedding last weekend 2 of my uncles and male cousins that live out of state were making coments to everyone at their table about "the hot friend of the bride" untill my dad came up and informed them that I was their neice!!!! I just saw all of them last year on a family trip and they had no idea it was me. Infact no one at the wedding knew who I was and kept coming up to my parents asking why I had not attended the wedding. Melissa 314/157

I am so with you on this one!!!!!!!! I do not weigh myself (I don't even own a scale). The only reason I even know I am still loosing is by the reaction I get from friend's and family as well as the new wardrobe I seem to need to buy every few weeks. I do understand how people can get obsessed with the numbers on a scale but in the end as long as we are better off then where we started we are all successful!!!!!! Melissa 314/157 (As of a month ago when my girlfriend made me hop on her scale because she thought I weighed less then I was telling her. I have gone from a size 6 to a 4 since then

Topic: RE: What activity are you enjoying most since you've been losing?
Bike riding has been one thing. Hubby & I bought bikes this summer and have been doing quite a bit of that. Also I have been able to ride roller coasters again, without fear that I won't fit! I am not quite under the 200lb mark, but I have gone horseback riding recently after many years of not being able to. Our friends Horse Donny is HUGE, so I didn't feel to bad. He useually carries a 260lbs rider. Skiing has also been much easier ( though I was only down by 45lbs last season) this year should be even better!

Belinda, Your definitely not alone. I have only lost 75lbs since surgery on 11/7/03 and 110 since my highest weight of 320 last year. I have been plateauing like mad. Months it seems like at a time. I was stuck at 220 for probably 2-3 months before I finally got slowly down to the 210 I am now. Which I have been stuck at for 3 weeks now. We just bought a multi-gym that has pretty much everything, so I am hoping that adding the weight training to my bike riding & aerobics will help kick the metabolism up. Though I know I should probably do part of my workout in the am before work, I just can't get myself up early enough to do it. Just wanted to let you know your not alone. I know exactly how you feel! Cheer up, I just remind myself that I still feel great & wouldn't go back for anything. Even if I got stuck here forever, I would still be happy. Though, I am going to do my darndest to say good by to the 200's by my last Surgeon appt on 11/10.
