I haven't bought much yet because I am waiting to hit goal--that is only 18 pounds away then I am going on a big spree! I am now a size 14 and thinking I will end up in a 10, maybe some 12's in dress clothes. I started out as a 28 and some 30's so I am really thrilled with my results!

I AM TOO! Going on the 24th to buy all new clothes...and a dress for a semi-formal ball on the 28th!
It is SOOOOOOOOO cool to go into ANY store and know that I'll be able to fit in the clothes!
Topic: Having fun buying clothes
I have been having a ball buying some new fall clothes. There was nothing in my closet to wear for cool weather. I ordered some clothes in a size large and they fit. When I held them up I thought this looks too small and won't fit, but lo and behold it did. I still have a hard time believing someone when they call me skinny, but smile real big inside. Isn't this surgery grand. Pat

Topic: RE: Finally getting protein in!!
Morning snack: Dannon Carb control yogurt: 5g's
Breakfast :2oz Chicken with cheese melted over it 18 g's
Lunch: Grilled chicken salad with cheese 18 g's
Snack: Carb control yogurt 5 g's
Dinner: Steak or chicken with a salad or green beans. 19 g's
Snack: Dorito's edge tortilla chips 10 g's
I cannot eat eggs, so i usually have meat for breakfast. I feel like i eat all day too. The Dorito's edge tortilla chips are made from soy, so they are very high in protien and low in carbs. I know I am not getting in my right amount of calories, but i have a slow metabolism and gain with as little as 1100 calories.
If you prefer eggs, a large egg contains 8 g's of protien.
Hope this helps you out a little.

All this comes out to 75 g's of protein and 28 g's of fat and 17 carbs

Hi Dawn,
Thanks for you reply. I am only trying to get in my doctors min. of 50 grams a day. It seems no matter how hard I try I can't get it in without supplementing w/ a protein drink. Can you share with me an example of what you eat in a day that your able to get all your protein in? I have tried and tried I am just not able to eat that much. I had the banding with my GBP so that maybe my problem. I am never hungry and when I eat I am lucky if I can get in 2 to 4 oz. at a time. Its rare I get in 4 oz just depends on what it is.
Thanks!
Kim

Hi Kim
You still cannot eat enough meat to get in your protien? I get all mine in from eating now. What kind of things are you eating? Also, how much protien are you trying to get in daily? I try to get in around 60 grams.

Topic: Finally getting protein in!!
Hello!
I am 10 months out and am just now finally able to get all my protein in daily. I have struggled since surgery but just never could find a protein supplement that I could tolerate. And trying to get in all the required grams by food was just impossible. I just can't eat that much! So I started experimenting with tasteless protein (Any Whey) and this is what I have come up with and its become a staple in my diet! I thought I would share in case any of you are struggling to.
1 4 oz Dannon light and fit blueberry yogurt
1/2 cup frozen mix berries (strawberries, raspberries & blueberries)
1 scoop any whey protein powder
1/2 tray of ice cubes
1 tbl spoon of splenda
I stick it in the blender and blend till smooth. It is so yummy.....
150 calories
0 fat
20 carbs (from the yogurt & fruit)
21 grams of protein
You can get creative and mix up the flavors. Tonight I am drinking one using strawberry yogert, 1/4 cup frozen strawberries and 1/2 banana.
Hope this helps anybody who hasn't been able to find a protein shake they like!!

Topic: RE: Anyone having Gall Bladder issues? Help!
At the end of May I woke up one day out of the blue with this horrible pain. Could not stand up straight. This happened on a Saturday so my normal doctors were all off. I went into Acute care and they found nothing wrong. Three weeks later, 7 trips to the emergency room in 3 different towns, one 3 hours away, 9 visits to 4 different doctors, numerous tests, 8 days in the hospital, the diagnoses of an ulcer, I finally raised some hell and demanded to talk to hospital administration. After another days worth of tests they discovered it was my gallbladder. It had passed a stone into my pancreas and caused some damage and cause it to become very upset. The removed my gal bladder finally. They did not have to do it open, in fact the doctor only added one new hole, and used the same incisions that I had for my Lap. bypass. I was in the hospital for only 2 days after they removed my gall bladder, I probably would have been out after one, but they wanted to make sure I was eating okay because in the 3 week ordeal I dropped from 165 pound to 145 pounds. I think the pain after the gall bladder surgery was worse then my bypass. After my bypass I was up ready to go, after the gall bladder it was about 6 weeks before I really felt up to doing much of anything.
Topic: RE: At goal and denied for PS
Not me, but I am getting ready to go through the same thing. My rashes are not such that I have been going to the doc for them, so they have let me know ahead of time that it will be an uphill battle. Fortunately [well okay - not fortunately], I have two blown discs in my lumbosacral spine, so I am hoping they will view this as a means of mitigating what it will cost them if I have to have the back surgery [which, between us, will NEVER happen]
Good luck and keep us posted ~
