Topic: At goal and denied for PS
I am at my goal and have been at stable weight for a month and a half. My plastic surgeon took pictures and submitted everything to Blue Cross. Received a call today that Blue Cross denied it as cosmetic. They will send a letter in a few days with the appeal procedure. Unfortunately I do not have any rashes but do have back problems which I hope surgery would help. Does anyone have any information of what to put into the appeal letter? Thanks in advance for your help.

to answer Cecil's post; my BMI was 45.2 when I had the surgery. I'm now at 24.6. It has been very SLOW the past 3 months. But in the past 2 weeks; I have dropped 7 lbs.

Topic: RE: Anyone having Gall Bladder issues? Help!
I had my gallbladder out 2 months after my WLS. Unfortunately, it took me longer to heal and get out and about. I was able to have my surgery done lap, but had to have a larger incision up around my bra line. Since I was only 2 months post op from the WLS, it took me longer to heal. I was out of work for a little over 3 weeks. And the larger incision took forever to grow back together! I was in the ER from 11pm (Wednesday****il 5 or 6 pm (Thursday) when they finally moved me to a room. I didn't have my surgery until Friday afternoon and left the hospital Saturday evening (against doctor's best wishes). I just had to be out. My experience wasn't very well. I think that since they now that you could have gallbladder problems from the WLS, that they should take it out when in there. This was the 2nd (or maybe 3rd) fallen out that me and my WLS surgeon had. It does sound like it is your gallbladder. So, I would contact either your surgeon or your PCP. Best of luck, Kristy

I just now hit the "Overweight" category, which is cool by me as I started out as "super morbidly obese" I like a BMI of 29.9 much better than the 53.4 I started with! I could stop anytime now and be very happy with my results. Carolyn 317/174

Way to go! That's great! I only have 18 lbs to go until normal myself. What was your starting BMI? My starting BMI was 51.4, now it's 27.7. It's getting harder and harder to lose. The past month has been really slow. How about you? Cecil 338/182

Great News Mark! Congrats! I am only half way at 10 months, which is very discouraging. I guess I am one that takes much longer then others. Darlene 309/228/???
