Topic: RE: My bosom is troubled....
I have found the best bra in the whole world! It is at Lane Bryant and they have removable air pockets in them. Not sure if they make a small enough size but it might be worth trying. I am in a 38D and they have all sorts of them. Good luck! Jennifer
Topic: My bosom is troubled....
The good news is that I have now lost 140 pounds and 85.5 inches on my weight-loss journey. The bad news is I can't find a bra that works! And my bosom has serious lack of support issues! Seriously, ladies, (men stop reading here if you haven't already) after losing 17.5 inches off my bosom, what is left has developed serious sag! And I need some serious support, especially for exercise sessions.
For several years I have ordered the DanskinPlus sports bra, which was perfect as it was very comfortable and minimized my endowments, even if they did cost $42 apiece and had to be ordered on-line. I went down through the 4-X size, the 3-X, the 2-X, and the XL sizes. Last month the XL began getting too large for me. That was when I found out, to my dismay, that Danskin does NOT make a sports bra anything close to what I was used to in normal sizes! Nooooooooooo!
I tried to order something that looked close in another brand--it was back-ordered. So I went shopping locally. I tried on a regular bra in a size that fit around my smaller chest and was the right cup size for the breast tissue I have left now---and it pushed all the excess skin around my boobies up into my armpit--which will never do!
I bought a couple of jogging bras that were lightweight and comfortable but the first time I tried to exercise in them they flipped up right off my breasts and left me totally unsupported. I kept going around the circuit at Curves but had to adjust myself after every three stations. Now they are even sliding up off me during normal daily activities....NOT going to work! I went back to the XL sports bra from DanskinPlus, but it ain't going to keep working for long!
HELP! Does anyone have any suggestions for a brand, a store, or a bra style that might work for me, between now and my plastic surgery, which is at least a year away? My bra size would be a 42 C if not for the excess skin, which the bra type must make allowances for. I am thinking a sports bra is still going to be my best bet. If you are thinking of saying "underwire", bite your tongue! I refuse to build fences in that area, if you know what I mean.

Topic: RE: I'm very discouraged
thanks for the note, it nice to not feel alone. I also work 12 hour night shifts. (people don't understand working from 7p-7a really turns your life upside down and doesn't make it easy to do what others are doing) No I haven't ever lost this much in such a short time, but I just feel it should be more!!!!
Thanks again keep up the good work
Belinda

Don't be discouraged, I know how you feel. I had my surgery on the same date as you, and I haven't lost much more than you. I constantly compare myself to others all the time and feel like I haven't lost enough, eventhough I haven't been this weight or fit into a 12 or 14 in 6 years. I started running again after years of not being able to and I have not lost mIuch since I started running again. My clothes are looser, so I'm losing inches. I only run at home on the treadmill at home since I have a two year old and I work nights. I force myself to do it all the time because it lifts my mood and gives me the energy I need to get through it all working these crazy hours. It has sort of taken my mind off the big plateau. Just think , have you ever lost this much weight in such a short time, I bet not. Just hang in there and know you're not alone.....Good luck, Paula D.
Topic: RE: Food we are not supposed to eat...............
Hi there, I found that I have such a problem with eating at night. I work the night shift and all night long I want carbs!!!!!! I have been trying to eat cottage cheese mixed with green apples , raisins and nuts. I also throw in some artificial sweetner and some cinnamon. Believe it or not it tastes like a dessert. I also try to eat Kashi GoLean cereal and I think that because they both have lots of protein in them that they fill me up. Anyway, good luck I struggle with this same problem everyday! I had my surgery on Nov. 4, 2003 and I've lost about 100 lbs., give or take a few. Paula

Topic: RE: hernia & excess skin removal questions...
Kim, I have not had this done, but since your post has sat here for 3 days unanswered, thought I would post and let you know--it is very common to combine the two surgeries. Most surgeons do not recommend having it done until you have lost all the weight you are going to lose and have stabilized for a few months--the results for the tummy tuck are much better that way. It is usually fine to wait that long, there is a small possibility that the hernia could strangulate--if this happened they would have to do your surgery as an emergency--sudden excruitating abdominal pain should be checked out immediately.
