Topic: RE: Anyone having Gall Bladder issues? Help!
My surgeon let us know in the open meet that if our gall bladder showed signs that it was going to need surgery in the future, he would just give us a twofer and remove it at the time of surgery. Mine was removed during my open RNY. And yeah - grease or fat will make me sick.
But other than that, I don't miss it!
Topic: How do I stop this?
I got to my goal last month and was very happy. I was a size 6 but am now wearing a loose size 4.
I called my nutritionist to see how to stop the weight loss and she told me to add more carbs and to eat well rounded meals. I have been doing all that and getting in almost 1300 calories each day, including about 50 carbs, but the weight is still coming off!
I will even be thinner after my tummy tuck next month
. I am just hoping that my body will stop this losing soon!
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Topic: RE: Anyone having Gall Bladder issues? Help!
Hi! I am not an expert but I had to have my gallbladder removed after my surgery and mine was an open surgery. They said it was from the rapid weight loss and change in diet. I had mine done (gallbladder) laproscopically outpatient. It took me a couple of days to recover, not too big of a deal figuring you went thru this major surgery. I think when they are doing weight loss surgery they will remove your gallbladder because of the rapid weight loss and the diet however if it doesn't look bad I don't think they remove it. That was what happened in my case. I felt crappy for months before i found out about me having gallstones. Hope I've helped.

Topic: Anyone having Gall Bladder issues? Help!
Hi all -
I'm starting to have pains in my upper right side after I eat something with fat in it. The other night my husband ordered a pizza and I had my usual half a slice with a salad and I almost doubled over with pain for about 45 minutes. It passed but left me with 'post traumatic stress disorder' LOL -
I don't want to have that happen again! I'm not doubting that it's my gall bladder or that it will have to come out eventually, what I'd like to know is if anyone else has had it done already and how long they were 'out of commission'. How long will I not be able to be active after I have it done? Does anyone know how long of a hospital stay is required? I've heard rumors that WLS patients are requred to have a gall bladder removal done OPEN and cannot be done laproscopically? Does anyone know if this is true? Any info will be MUCH appreciated.
Thanks!!!!

Topic: RE: What is your exercise routine now?
Hi Mitzi -
I think you're probably finding that Curves isn't enough to challenge your body anymore right? - That's the thing with exercise, you have to continually push yourself a little further. I really enjoy working out in the privacy of my own home. I have a treadmill and a roomful of exercise videos. I like the firm - once I started doing the firm videos I saw a HUGE drop in weight and my upper body got really defined. My husband said he could really see the muscles in my legs getting defined when we walk - but I don't see it yet. But don't stop what you're doing - if Curves is all you can fit in, then keep doing it, the best exercise is the one that you do!!! don't overcomplicate it or you'll end up not doing it at all. Good luck!
Topic: RE: Food we are not supposed to eat...............
I have been fighting this very subject....well, since the day I came home from the hosptial. It seems like the more Im not supposed to have something the more I want it. First it was the diet cola drinks. Now, I cant stand them and opt for bottled water. I think its just 'knowing' that were not supposed to consume it makes it much worse. I just eat as the rest of my family does, just not as much to fill me up as before. I have always had a sweet tooth and still do. I almost always have some of those little miniature chocolate bars before bed...i keep them on my night stand. BAD i know, but hey I didnt have this surgery to punish myself so to speak for the rest of my life. I about 20 pounds or even less from where i want to be so I dont think its so bad. I try to make good choices but when I mess up Im not so hard on myself as i really dont think its hindering the WL at this point.
I think we have all 'cheated'; we just dont all admit to it
