Topic: does your food get cold before you can eat it all???
Hi,
just another thing i thought i would share with you. if you are like me it takes between 30 and 45 minutes to eat a meal. and before i get even 1/2 way it's stone cold and reheating in the microwave all the time just gives you hot rubbery food!! so i was at the store the other day and came across the mug warmers for coffee, it plugs in and has a little heating top on it to keep your coffee warm as you are drinking it. so i thought HMMMMMM......
i took it home and took the teacup saucers which are an exact fit to the heater and which my food fits great in (it makes it look like i have so much food on my plate!!) and my meal is now hot all the way through!!
hope this helps you , my life is so much happier now!!
let me know if it worked for you as well

Topic: I thought i was done!!
Hi,
i went from 262.5 to 138.0 with only a few plateaus, so when i got to 138.0 which was within goal for me (they said i would stop between 130 and 140) i thought i was done and was very happy with that. i am between a size 4 and 8 depending on the cut of clothes. i haven't been weighing myself all the time like i did when i was coming off regular because what was the point it never changed, but something told me to get on this morning and i did and i have lost another pound. (137.0) i am so happy i wanted to shout it to the world, so i thought i would share it with my family of November surgery dates!!
so anyone who is on a plateau don't get discouraged because i was on a plateau for 6 weeks and then off i go!!
thanks for listening

It sounds like you are doing well in eating mostly high protein things, but I don't see how you can get in over 100 grams of protein and only 1000 calories--I suggest you try going to fitday.com and put in a day's intake, then see what the calorie count is. Make sure you measure portions accurately! If it is really only about 1000 calories then you may be eating too little. Not enough calories can put our bodies into starvation mode, when they fight to keep every pound. In this case more calories can help. Try for 60-80 grams of protein and around 1500 calories. But there is more to this than what you do or don't eat...
For me, exercise has been the key in maintaining a steady weight loss. The surgery gives us a tool but we have to do our part, and exercise is the best thing we can do to maximize our weight loss. Exercise doesn't just burn calories while you are doing it, it builds muscle mass, whi*****reases your resting metabolic rate, which allows you to burn even more calories, and so on.
When I tell people I exercise 5 times a week one of the main responses I hear back is that "I don't have time for that..."
These are mostly 30-minute sessions, folks! If you just can't free up
2-1/2 hours a week, then you really need to simplify your life, or re-prioritize, or something! Come on--who can't do 2 1/2 hours a WEEK?!
We had major surgery and changed the way our digestive systems function in order to lose weight and be healthier. It doesn't make sense to do that and then sit on our butts hoping the weight will just fall off by itself.
You missed the summer. Don't miss any more! Get moving and keep moving!

Hi!
I am having the same problem,
I started out at 309 and had surgery 11/10/04 and now weigh only 232 a total of 77 pounds and the scale seems to be moving slower and slower each month. I am only about half way to where I want to be.
I need to lose at least another 75 or more pounds.
I hope by the reply's that I just read that I continue to lose slow but steady to get close to my personal goal.
I joined a gym myself but haven't been consistint with going
(shame on me)
Keep your chin up Belinda, I am sure we will get there if we make the right choices.
Good Luck,
Darlene

Hi ALL!! I am so thrilled. Check out my profile, my new picture is up. What a difference. We just got back from vacation too and what a difference that was. I was able to walk much better and feel good about myself. We had so much fun and this year I could FIT on the rides.
