I'm not even 5' I'm 4'11" I started at 253 and am now 163 only 10 pounds away from losing 100 pounds yeh me.
I don't know what my goal will be yet. My doc says it should be what ever I feel good at. so I was thing around 120 - 130. I was that weight in high school and I thought I looked pretty good then. I had my surgery on 11-15-05 so I am 6 months out too.

I am 5' and don't really see a lot of heights on profiles. Just wondering what your
success has been like and where your weight may be now. And I know everyone is different but just like to have something to compare to a bit.

You are very right most of use before surgery has such illregular periods that to have them change is new. But still dont know if it normal. I am fortunate that mine have regulated to a normal cycle. To all of those out there long periods of bleeding can cause inflammed uteruses, bacteria infections and worse make you infertile. So if it isnt normal to what you learned in health get it checked asap. Some woman also had other problems before surgery but was never properly diagnosed due to a Doctor not having the extra long equipment to deal with obese women and the excess skin and fat around our vagina areas. Now with the weight melting off it is easier for the vody to tell you it is not healthy and easier for the Doctors to see it with there instruments. Most things can be helped but get checked.

Tanya sorry to hear this, But I am just the oppisit I am not getting my period.
Well I should say march was very light didn't hardly need a pad. April wasn't at all and so far this month nothing. I don't know what that would mean either. But if I don't get it this month I will ask my doc. Hope everything goes well for you.

Hello my fellow November Losers
I hope that everyone is doing well...but I have a topic that seems to have come up on the main message board and since it's something I too am going through I thought I should share it with all of you. It seems that many women are experiencing changes in their menstral cycles post-op and excusing it as being related to the rapid weight loss. PLEASE READ MY STORY:
Ok...This is a topic of mine at this point as well. I am 6 months post-op today (down 90 pounds yeah). I don't have PCOS but I do have endometriosis. I was diagnosed after I had my daughter in 1989 (weird I know but I had my son and daughter [got pregnant on birth control both times] and then was diagnosed with endometriosis). I have had a couple laproscopies, 2 courses of lupron, and treatment with birth control pills over the years. OF course, I had to come off the birth control pills before surgery . So, post-op each month I was getting heavier bleeding, the period lasted longer 8-10 days, and more cramping and pain. Per the advise of my bariatric surgeon, I went to the GYN doc in beginning of April and she wanted me to start taking birth control again at the beginning of my next cycle. Reluctantly, I started taking the birth control pills (Seasonale) when I started my period April 23 and HAVE NOT STOPPED BLEEDING!!!! So, she had me do a pelvic sono and I went to see her yesterday. Final result...I have adenomyosis. I am going to have a D&C and endometrial ablation as soon as they can get me on the surgery schedule. I am done having kids so this was the right option for me at this time. If it doesn't work....then they will have to do a hysterectomy.
PLEASE GO SEE A GYN ASAP IF YOU HAVE EXCESSINE BLEEDING AND PAIN! This is NOT normal for WLS patients.
I hope that this message helps at least one other person and then it will be worth it to me

Hi all! I am not quite 6 months out yet, but here goes. I am down 66 lbs. and lots of inches. I have 19 lbs to be in onerland and 34 lbs after that to go to reach my personal goal. I am on the way! I went from a tight 22 to a size 14/16 and 2X tops to L. I am very happy with how things are going for me. I have been working out 4-5 times a week. I am trying to cut back on carbs, I noticed them sneaking in my meals and snacks.

Hi November guys and gals!
I have lost 80 lbs and didn't keep up with the inches. Started in 22/24 and down to loose 18 pants/shorts and XL shirts. I'm short!
Feeling great, looking great I think!! Making good food choices but feeling hungry and have the munchies sometimes.
You all have done so well! Keep it up~

Barb;
First, please don't post in all caps. It's the equivalent of screaming at someone, and while I'm sure you're worried, please don't scream.
If you think you're retaining water, you need to watch your sodium and drink plenty of water. Your body will retain water when it's worried you're not getting enough, so the best way to fix that is constantly be sipping.
It's normal to have some bounceback weight of 5-10 lbs. So, I wouldn't worry about that too much.
You say you don't think you're eating that much, but if you're not keeping a food diary, you don't know for sure. Anytime my weight loss stalls, I completely go back to basics. Focus on protein, water and exercise. Are you maybe letting carbs slip back into your diet? Are you exercising?
Blessings,
Jennifer
