Hi Christine,
Sorry to hear about your ulcer. I, too, am so ready for summer. It's been snowing here all day. Our road finally got dry a couple of days ago and now it's all mud again. My WLS was Nov. 8 and I've lost 74 lbs. I'm now wearing a size 14 in jeans. Woo hoo! This surgery is one of the best things I've ever done.

I have not dumped on anything. I wish that I had. I don't have that particular behavior modification tool.

Well just wanted to drop a line and say hi I have to go update my profile its been forever. Take care and drop me a line sometime..
Topic: RE: feeling frustrated...but happy overall
Hi stephanie!
I know all about frustration. I am stuck for *weeks* at a time, drop 3 or 4 then plateau again for another month or so.
Sounds like you are doing great with the loss, though.
I am also a working mom and one of the things I do to help with the food Blahs is keep lots of things stocked that have a good shelf life.... protien bars, beef jerky, ostrich sticks, soy crisps, low fat cheeses, and no sugar added peanut butter and cashew butter. That way I have a variety to chose from when I know I "have" to eat "something".
I hope that helps!
**hugs**

Topic: RE: anyone else spit food a lot?
Ive done it a few times. I think its in my mind, I realize, wait - Im no longer hungry - or that one more bite may make me ill. Again, only 4-5 times, but yes, Ive done it!

Topic: anyone else spit food a lot?
I've developed an odd habit and I'm curious if anyone else is having the same issue. In an effort to eat less soft foods and incorporate more normal foods into my diet, I regularly try various foods. Nothing bad, just regular foods. I'll often try a bite, chew for a while, but then feel compelled to spit the bite out. Sometimes this happens after the first bite goes down fine. Sometimes this happens because I've already had a few bites and suddenly feel incredibly full, so I'm immediately compelled to remove all food from my mouth, viewing area, smelling area, etc.
Today, for instance, I tried a thick chicken soup. First bite, good, subsequent bites, spit.
Also, sometimes this happens with the spitting thing, but when I'm attempting to eat foods, I occasionally feel some nausea. Almost like a pregnant woman would. The food sounds good to me, but as I take my first bite, I feel kinda icky and spit the food out. This does not happen with soft/bland foods, and seems to happen randomly.
