Thanks so much for ths info! I was suspecting that I was "overdoing" it... I been 1.5 hrs 5-6 days a week of high cardio and weights... I am lucky if I can lose 1 lb in a week! I am going to cut back a bit and see if that helps. I am just shy of 4 months and am at -56. Hugs Angel J

Dear Dana, I saw that show as well. I did have some concerns as they kept linking WLS with "quick fix" and not making your point that it is really just the start of a long process of behavioral changes. I am learning that a lot of the support programs now in place weren't even a few years ago. So she may not have had the nutritionist, physical therapist, behaviorist, and support groups that are part of my program. That must be very discouraging and I wish her the best. Sally

Stephanie, You are doing AWESOME!! My surgery date was 11/7/05 and I am down approximately 60 lbs. One of my biggest problems is getting on the scale too often, and getting in all the protein and water. I had a month long plateau and now the scale is moving again. Hang in there, everyone loses at a different pace. Congrats on your loss! DianeC

I was watching the NBC show "The Biggest Loser" last night and it featured 4 Navy wives vs. 4 Marine wives. One of the Navy wives had WLS 9 years ago and is now back up to 241 pounds! I'd like to know her whole story, but it does show that WLS is just a tool (and a great one) that allows us to work on our eating/exercising habits for awhile. But after that initial "honeymoon" phase, it will be 90% up to us again!! So get on those exercise routines, and practice good eating habits now! I know I don't want to put the weight back on in 5 years, I've worked too hard to come this far. --Dana

Thanks, I guess I need to keep reminding myself to be patient, which I am not. That is one of my problems. I need to learn patience. I emailed my doctor's office and was told the same thing that I am doing well and that I need patience, it will come off. I have to stop being so hard on myself. I wouldn't have lost this weight before WLS and I should be happy with it so far. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy.

Thank u so much Helen. I actually like walking now. I am also my own worse critic. I do feel so much better. I am going to try and stop dwelling on things and concentrate on my last 36 pounds!!!!!!!!!

Yeah my surgery date was 11-10-06. I started out at 228 pounds. Thanks for the encouragement. I have been trying to walk almost everyday. I think that will help a lot.
