Topic: I need a Buddy
Hi Everyone, I had surgery on 12/28/05 & I need a few of good buddies. I have found myself slipping back into old habits, I fgure if I had someone to email & talk to, it would keep me motivated. I am a really good listener so it would reciprocated. So far I have lost 68lbs with 108 to go. So if anyone wants a buddy, give me a holler. Peace, Love & Happiness Toni

i actually stalled for 3 weeks! but i had started walking/jogging 1.5 miles 3-5xs a week and started doing the Winsor Pilates 20 min. work-out so while i was losing inches, and gaining muscle, i wasnt losing any weight... which was still discouraging. weird, isnt it? this past week i havent walked/jogged due to my knee acting up and i have lost 5 pounds. and while you havent had wise food choices, you said yourself that you would have binged in the old days... please forgive yourself and start fresh again. it will pass... *hugs*

Ebony, If I were you, I would ask my doctor before I did anything so drastic! If you cut your calories too much, you might go into starvation mode. You are doing wonderfully well! Please don't take any chances with your health! Pat

Topic: RE: FINALLY - FINALLY - FINALLY - the scale is moving AGAIN!!!!!!!!
Hi, Sharon! I have had not one, but two stalls so far! One in February and one in April... Now it is coming off again, thank goodness! Being in onederland is wonderful! Congratulations! I still have about 40 lb. to go to get there, but I WILL get there. It is frustrating when I see how much others have lost, but I am just going to plug away at it! HUGS, Pat

Topic: RE: What does your daily menu look like these days?
Hi, Diana! I usually have a chocolate protein shake with skim milk for breakfast. For lunch I usually have 4 oz. of Dannon Carb Control Yogurt with about 2 tbsp. of freshly ground flax seed, one cheddar cheese stick (1 oz.) and one snack serving (4 oz.) of unsweetened apple sauce. For dinner, I usually have 2-3 oz. of fish or meat and 1-2 oz. each of one or two veggies, either cooked or raw. I have a late night snack, usually one more cheese stick and some SF popsicles. According to fitday.com, I take in between 800 and 1100 calories a day. Pat

Susan, I am in the same boat exactly two weeks no scale movement.I havnt been to the gym in weeks and I think my inactivity is causing this stall.I have to confess also I havnt gotten my protien in either.I have to recommit myself to this and use this surgery as it was intended ,as a tool.I thonk I became complacent in the fact I would lose weight anyway.Whew that felt good, confession is good for the soul. Thanks guys. I'm feeling better today and I've beeen being good. lol. Wouldn't you know after two days of madness, the scales said I'd lost 4 lbs. I've decided to try to take them with a grain of salt. Try being the key word here.

My Dr. said I could have protein shakes forever! And I'm a glad girl. I like them. I had one for breakfast-for lunch-well, we went out to eat-and I had a little of this and a little of that...ie... 1/2 stuffed meatball, couple bites of baked beans, couple bites of taco-with meat and cheese, small ice cream-yum-and a 1/2 piece of sugar free bluberry pie. I also ate a french fry and a bite of chicken...when I do that--eat a lot more than I should at a meal-then the next meal I have another shake. I try and get at least 30 minutes of cardio-walking 3 mph-5 or 6 days per week..drink lots of water and drink lots of decaf coffee. Yesterday-for the first time since surgery I had a caffiene free diet coke. I'm gonna ask at my next appointment if that's ok-I don't really know for sure. My problem is the long time between dinner and breakfast-not snacking is hard for me-and although, I can't eat too much at a meal-I could snack all day if I permitted myself. I've been pretty much sticking to rice cakes and fat free chips-but it's hard sometimes.

Hi Susan, I feel your pain and concerns - although i donot have a scale at home i have also been bad - i will tell you : toast, 3 to 4 spoons of rice, slice of chocolate cake, ( my dumping is feeling extremly sleepy) salt and vinegar chips, - now i know as well as everyone newbie that these things a re a nono - but like you i also know that if it was before wls it also would be an all out binge. I've told myself that as of Monday i will start back to the basics measuring everything, and forcing only water instead on crystal light and or diet snapples. i too feel that i might now loose anymore weight when i saw the dr last week i was down to 234 but knowthat i could of lost more - also reading online about the 6 month honeymoon period is really scaring me - so i to need to stick with the program - hey thanks for letting me vent as well - email me we can be each others rooting partner - JO
