Hi all,
I'm down about 75 pounds since my surgery on 12/28 and down 105 since I started losing. BUT I still have about 135 pounds to go to reach my goal of 150ish (I have so far to go that I haven't even discussed goals with my doctor other than briefly at our first visit). 150 seems reasonable as I'm 5' 9" ish
Topic: RE: Ideas for mixing protein powder...
I use "any whey" unflavored protein mix.
I mix it with
Yogurt..1/2 scoop
Carb Countdown chocolate milk...a full scoop
SF hot cocoa mix...full scoop, mix it in cold water, hea****er slowly and stir in hot cocao mix after water is heated.
SF international coffee mixes (decaf)...full scoop and heat just like with hot cocoa
SF pudding....at least a full scoop, mix it with 1% milk then mix in the instant pudding mix
I can not taste it at all. I can not drink the flavored protein drinks, they make me gag.
Good luck
Madeline

I put vanilla protein powder into my banana bread oatmeal.. 28g of protein.. the vanilla whey from GNC is one of the better ones out there..
I also make frozen fruit smoothies with frozen strawberries and bananas and low carb milk (30g of protein).. the whole frozen fruit thing really masks the protein powder taste
Hope this helped

Hi, I began at 308 last fall and now weigh 253, for a loss of 55 lb. I have lost 51 lb. since surgery on 12/29. I exercise three or four days a week at a local fitness center doing treadmill, stationary bicycle, and the weight circuit. I plan on adding an aerobics class two times a week beginning next week. My surgeon's goal is 179, so I still have 74 lb. to go for him. My personal goal is 139...

Hi Diana,
I had my surgery on 12/22/05. I started at 248 5'1". I am now down to 202. I can't wait to be under 200lbs. I haven't had any problems with any food. I did get tired of the protein shakes so I am doing everything I can to get my protien in with real food. I go to Curves at least 4x a week and have started walking outside now that the weather is better. I am going to start going to the gym as soon as my work badge is accessed. (we have a gym at work for employees) My goal weight is 140 but would really just like to be in a size 10 pants or jeans. And size M tops. I wear scrubs at work and I am in size M pants and M tops. I was in XL pants and XL tops. It feels great!!!!!
Everyone keep up the good work. We are all doing great!

Hi Diana,
I had surgery 12/13/05. I have lost 66.5 pounds as of last week. I would like to make the century mark by 05/13/06, 33.5 more pounds to go. I do not really know what my goal weight is. I thought it was 185 but I am not sure. I went from a size 26/28 tight to a size 20 comfortable 18 tight. I only dreamed about being in a size 16 again and it is right around the corner. This is so coooooool!
Exercise on the other hand is not so cool. I still hate it and I always will. I walk 2-4 times a week for 1 1/2 each time. May not sound like much but for me , what's a miracle.
