Hey guys! i had my DS just over a year ago. I'd love to get some info on any meetings on the west side. I had my Ds at the Bridges Center and have not made it to the meetings yet. I would love to meet some WLS friends on the West side.

LoL! I think this is more about 'size acceptance' vs BBW only.... (at least my understanding of it). Some pics I've seen had previous BBW's that were thin now. I dunno ::shrugs:: it's a free ticket and a reason to get outta Phx for 5 days. If I don't like the vibe, it's VEGAS!!!

Yanno, as happy as I am at the thought of being able to go into the majority of the stores in the mall to shop for clothing - I'm going to miss LB and Torrid. It's so weird. I got some nice clothes dammit! And having saggy ass in my once full jeans is kinda ticking me off. But, I know it's worth it!!!

That's funny about being kicked out, I guess I kinda wonder to myself when I see thin women or men working at LB... but I suppose it's the same around when people go in there with plus sized ladies working. Shoot, if I can still fit in the bra's at LB, I know they got deals all the time and no one is gonna stop me from shopping in there if I choose to do so.

Oh I dont qualify as a BBW anymore! Dagnamit. I love Vegas too. I said good bye to Lane Bryant months ago, they kicked me out. I walked in to look at bras and the lady told me before I got my question out "this is a plus sized store mam"! I can still wear the bras, mean old lady discrimnating against a former BBW!
I hope you have a blast! This may be your last chance!

I am currently at 130 lbs 10 pounds below goal weight!

There is a BBW bash in Las Vegas every summer. I don't know much about it because I've never been. But, I'm going this year. Should be interesting.

Welcome, Miranda! Congrats on your weightloss, that's awesome!!!

I don't know what part of town you are in, but I went to a support group that is outta Scottsdale Hospital last night (meets every 1st monday and 3rd Wed 6-7:30p) and I've been notified that there is also one on the West Side (every 2nd Friday 7p-?). I plan on going to the one on the West Side next month :)

Hi :) I'm new to AZ and new to this board, as I just recently discovered that this forum existed. I had the DS almost a year ago (in NC on 6.9.11). I'd love to connect with people in the Phoenix area for support and to share our stories. I'm 5 lb away from my goal, down 140 lb and feeling great!
