The group sounds great. I'm so pleased to hear that other people have been through the Kaiser program and had VSG. I am planning on being there. I just really want to talk to others who have been through it to keep me motivated. Thank you so much for your response. I will see you Saturday.

dan, i had a gb 10 years ago and have had 7 additional surgeries since that time - 6 hernia repairs and a bowel resection.  so  i agree with you - there are complications out there and they can happen to anyone!!!!

Topic: Any San Gabriel Valley WLS Groups?
I'm in SGV just 30 minutes from Chino Hills and 15 from Downtown LA. Any groups from this area that meet frequently. If not, I'm thinking of starting one. Anyone interested?

i agree with fighting the requirement. I too had a 25 pound requirement which skyrocketed to 40 pounds because of a 15 pound gain. I finally faced my fear and told my surgeon I needed help because I was having such a difficult time with the pre-op weight. she lowered the requirement to 20 pounds from my gained weight. so instead of 40 +, i only have to lose 20 but she also told me that if she sees at least a 10 pound loss by my pre-op appt that she would go ahead and start the auth process. just talk to your surgeon and tell him/her that this weight req is so difficult for most people and especially you. im sure they will make some sort of exception or they can probably bend the rules for you. my pre-op is feb. 10 and so far havent lost too much but I am just going to keep doing what im doing and pray that i get at least 10-15 down by that time and hopefully she'll submit for insurance approval. good luck!

 hey all!!!

i guess im more near san diego being in riverside county. im hoping to have the bypass...i have one more weigh in around the feb timeframe. ive already been denied by tricare once due to not having been on a weight management program for 6 months. i am getting anxious and just want to get the show on the road. my weight for the past 5 and a half months has really no weight loss. i heard tricare was the easiest to get approved by....of course my luck proves otherwise. ive done all my pre op tests and psych eval. passed them all with flying colors.

is anyone else in the virtual waiting room with me???
