Topic: RE: anyone from san jose area about to have surgery?
Hi, Tami!
Since the November meeting doesn't seem to be happening, the next meeting in San Jose should be the third Wednesday in December, which is Dec. 19.
I will send you a pm with more info.

Topic: RE: Looking to move to northern CA
Maybe Livermore (thought not much more affordable) or Oakley/Brentwood/Discovery Bay/Byron? I don't know what traffic is like on Vasco Road during commute times. You could also look in areas of Fremont, Milpitas, or Northern San Jose, which would be a reverse commute to that area. It would be more affordable but is not nearly as nice. I used to commute from Fremont to San Ramon every day, and it was not bad, but I didn't have kids at the time so I don't know about schools in that area.

Hi Larra, I'd to hear about the next meeting is San Jose. Thank you Tami
Topic: RE: San Jose Area - Walking/Hiking
I'm in San Jose (Blossom Valley, near Almaden) and would like to join in as my schedule allows. I am pre-op and in pretty bad physical shape, though (can walk just fine, but would be slow and huffing and puffing)!

Topic: RE: Support group in Roseville, Ca
Chris, thank you. I did find a group that meets on Roseville with Sutter. I'm with Kaiser but they are open to other patients as well
Topic: RE: Support group in Roseville, Ca
I am still pre-op through UCD (surgery date of 11/26), but have attended their support group. It's the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30. They don't limit it to UCD patients. It's not in Roseville, it's at the UCD medical center, but its not too far from Roseville.
Topic: RE: Information-gathering in San Jose
Sarah, I'm going to send you a pm with more info about the support group.

Topic: RE: support group meeting in San Jose 9/19
The only group close to you that PacLap has is the San Jose group. It is unusual for the meetings to be cancelled, so hopefully we will meet in December and you'll be ale to come. You can always pm me for more info, but unless something changes, that would mean the third Wednesday in December from 6-8 pm in San Jose.
I totally understand about the drive to San Francisco, but that group is the only one that includes Dr. Rabkin's presentation about all the different surgery types, so if you can ever get there, it would be well worth the effort.
