Topic: RE: aetna insurance trow the state ?
According to my insurance stipulation, I have to wait 6 months for approval and meet their requirements first before I'm approved. I have to meet my surgeon's requirements too before surgery. It is a wise decision on both the surgeon and insurance company. You really need that time.

I'll be having the Open Gastric Bypass (RNY) around the end of November at Middlesex Hospital. This was best for my health problems.
Topic: RE: Ffld. County Bariatrics- Dr. Ehrlich Patients
I just started seeing Dr. Ehrlich at his new office and I have no complaints. I find him compassionate and knowledgeable. I trust his opinion.
3 years ago I went to Fairfield Bariatrics, Craig Floch was to have been my surgeon. I jumped through all of the hoops saw all the recommended doctors and then when I called for a surgery date I was left high and dry. My calls and emails were never returned. After waiting two months I was forced to find another surgeon to do the lap band. As it turned out my surgery with the other surgeon was unsuccessful. It took me 3 years to get over this rejection and decided to give wls another try.
I am still in the process, but I have no doubt that it will be successful this time. I trust Dr. E., I would not recommend the Floch's to anyone.

I saw that too-only lap band. I had the sleeve at St. Francis in Hartford. Love it!
Topic: RE: the sleeve
I had the sleeve on June 1 at St. Francis in Hartford. I love it!!! I really did not want anyone messing with my intestines, heard alot about blockages, and know others who have had no luck with the lap band. I also had a hiatal hernia that they found during my pre op testing, and my surgeon fixed it at the same time! Like a 2 for 1 deal! I have lost 51 pounds and am never hungry. The grehelin hormone is gone! Yea! Good luck!

I am not sure I find it harder...its very different...I don't think I would maintain a loss without my support group...weighing in weekly helps me to stay in touch ... I don't exercise as much as I use to..which is very bad...I still get somewhat ill when I eat chocolate...which is a good thing...I still can only eat small meals...but the problem is I can graze all day if I don't stay in control! I am hoping that next year I can afford to upgrade my insurance and get some plastics...but if it doesn't happen...my arms bother me...my stomach I can hide..my thighs have never really bothered me much....I just pull on my tight jeans...and WOW...I have a space between my thighs..LOL...so harder in the sense that I have to be aware...
