Thank you! That's exactly what I've been doing for the last two days.  I didn't know there were so many different boards here because I only visited the lap band or realize band forums. You're right, my mind has done a complete turn around. I'm so overwhelmed you wouldn't believe it.

You really need to do some objective research on the band (not the manufacturer websites or surgeons who only do bands) and check the revisions board on this site.  Make sure you are well informed before you decide on the band.  Not trying to be negative but I have seen so many posts regarding band revisions that it can't be a good sign.  My own research at the beginning of my journey turned up very disturbing information and I changed my mind about it in a mere 24 hours.

Knowledge is power.  Make sure you are informed about all your WLS options before you go under the knife so you only have to do it once.

I spoke with LaShelle earlier, and she and Robert are open to be there. Arthur and I will be there as well.

Do you still plan to go tomorrow?  I just heard from Tiff and she would still like to get together.  I am open if we can get our group together.

You've been through a lot, too. I'm glad to hear you are well enough now to get through Atlanta with speed skates on, but do take it easy.

I hope Don gets well soon so they can make it safely back to Washington where he can rest comfortably.

Topic: RE: LOOKING FOR A SUPPOR GROUP
Yes I typical go to the Tuesday night group and sometimes make the saturday group.  Nope my nausea has not been an issue since my ulcers have been brought under control.

As for eating well I went from one extreme to the other in eating and exercise.  I now eat to fuel my exercise and really not for much more.  I have my daily calrie goal to hit which I quite often can't.

For me the most enjoyable meals are the ones I spend with those I care about.  I can eat a prtein bar with friends and enjoy it as much as a steak.  In fact I typically eat the same thing for days at a time.  I enjoy it the first day but the rest of the days it is fuel.

If you see me at group say hi.

Paul
It appears that we both used Dr. Macik for our WLS last Summer. Your progress is very impressive. Do you go to the Johns Creek Support groups? Are you still having nausea issues? Eating is definitely not the joy it used to be!

Rolanda,

I am so sorry to hear about Don's accident.  I was really looking forward to meeting them tomorrow.  I hope that he has a speedy recovery.  I know it is difficult for everyone due to the distance they are away from home.

Because I was going to have to spend tomorrow tearing from one part of metro Atlanta to the other, (this being my third stop of the day), Ithink I'll have to pass on this one.  Still very tired from all my body has been through this year.

To all that were planning to attend the lunch tomorrow at Pappasito's.....

Vitalady posted yesterday that while traveling through TN, they ran into a mud spot and their camper tilted over onto a tree. Don (Vitaguy) climbed up to the roof to investigate the damage and fell from a 14 ft ladder on his way down. He is in intensive care at the Univ of TN hospital with three broken ribs, damaged vertebrae, and a punctured/collapsed lung. This is so unfortunate for them, and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Needless to say, they will not be here to meet up with us tomorrow. If there is interest, we will still meet up as a group -- same place, same time.

Topic: Hi
I'm finally at a point in my life where I'm ready to make the change and take the necessary steps to having wls. I really want to try the lap band and have done my research on it, but lately I've found a lot negative words about it which almost has me second guessing myself. I finally found a doctor that accepts my insurance (Wellcare) and his name is Dr. Khan. Is there anyone here that's familiar with him? Also, is there anyone here who's just starting to move forward with the journey because I would love to have a buddy to talk to being that nobody I've talked to supports this idea.
