Topic: Fish Chowder Recipe, low fat, low carb.....Enjoy!!
Fish Chowder
Cooked Salmon (your choices)
Cooked Mahi Mahi
Cooked Swordfish
Cooked Grouper
Pearl Onion (frozen)
Cauliflower cut in small pieces (frozen) this is in place of potatoes
4 – 5 cups Fat Free Milk
1 ½ cups Mashed Butternut Squash (you can buy this frozen if you like)
3 tablespoons of crushed fresh garlic (I like garlic)
In a pot put a small amount of olive oil and your crushed fresh garlic. Sautees for a few minutes and add your pearl onions, cauliflower and sauté. Then add about 4 – 5 cups of fat free milk, heat until warm. Add your fish, I cut it into small pieces and made sure there were no bones. ( I used a variety of left over fish that I had cooked in my rotisserie the night before). Coo****il hot; make sure it does not stick to the bottom of the pot.
Add mashed butternut squash, this will thicken the chowder. Cook on low until thick and hot.
Pete was skeptical about this recipe, he loves clam chowder and in his words…."I don’t like diet food" I don’t call it diet….I call it healthy and also Very, Very Yummy!!!
Enjoy!!

Topic: XP from DS Board 6 months update with pix
Ok so here I am 6 months after I had a blender put into my belly and turned on high...lol ok not really. I get the question all the time "Would you do this again, knowing what you know now? Was it really worth it??" After I pick my self up from
ROFL... I tell them seriously I would do this again tomorrow even if I knew I was going to have the complications that I did and I would do it again every year if it was necessary. This surgery has saved my life. Diabetes... GONE, High Blood pressure....GONE, High Cholesterol...GONE, CPAP....GONE...Nuff said.
I pay it forward all the time, there are so many people here that need to hear about the DS, I am not that far from Atlanta or Augusta so good DS surgeons are close. I do warn them of the dangers of not getting protein and vites and tell them that I almost died because of not getting them.
WOWS that I have had....hmmmm there are so many. I fit in a booth, seat, ride at the fair, etc. I can walk around mu desk and not drag things off the wall behind me. I meet people on the street and they don't know me til I start to talk. I wore a size large polo shirt Saturday (I haven't done that since high school) Oh and this morning I was called a "Crackhead" and took it as a compliment
(I am a cop... so was he... he was meaning that I was skinny
love it...lol.
Ok Ok enough, I am going to attempt to paste pix now...wish me luck, lol
Lynne

This was 6 months before surgery (I was starting the Skinny Switch diet, only one of many...lol)

Night befire surgery

Night before surgery

At 6 months out

These are not great pictures but at least you can see the difference. I have lost 147 pounds and am 43 pounds away from my goal of 140.
I know post like this kept me going when I was pre-op, Hope this helps you

Wow! Sorry to be sooo late on this. My dad has been in the hospital for the past couple of days.
All my prayers to Celeste and Walter during this battle with "C" as I know it requires all their attention and focus for a while.
Be strong Celeste, you can beat this!
