I am in desperate need of a bariatric surgeon who accepts the illinois medical card when I get a lead on one they usually have a waiting list of 1 to 2 years or more anyone with any info please send it asap trhanks in advance gena

welcome to the world of hurry up and wait. I was going to siu clinic in Springfield I had been there over 17 months and gave up the wait is soo lame!!! I am now going to the university of Chicago and they tell you 4-6 months till your first appointments and I have been there 6 months exactly and I have not gotten an appointment. Also u of c will push anyone with insurance above ill medicaid so I just keep getting pushed down the line. I am optimistic that i will have surgery in 2007 i have been trying since early 04.

Hi Gena, I believe Dr. Vitello at the University of Illinois Hospitals in Chicago accepts the IL Medical Card. Please give him a try. If I hear of anything else, I'll let you know.
