Ok Im not sure if my info has been turned into the ins yet or now. After my psych eval he needed a paper faxed to him from the surgen as a refferal then he would fax his clearance for surgery. Then on to aproval.  I know how things can seem to get "lost" being faxed,  I  called my doctor AND emailed him with the info to fax the refferal for me. asking them to contact me letitng me know its been recieved ect. NO response for several days now. I left a message at the psych doctor asking if its been taken care of also No response. grrr. I want to make sure he got the refferal so I can get a copy of the clearance to fax myself to the surgen MYSELF. since I know theres been issues with not getting the clearances and getting "lost" latley. I figure I could just wait it out but then Im certain they will say oh wow its been a months and nothings been recieved yet. I dont want to keep calling though. Now the surgens several hours away but the psych doc isnt so I think I will just pop in there then tomorrow. Is that what I need to do y'all think. The wait will kill me lol

I think you need to stay on the Dr's. Another thing you can do is call your insurance company and ask if anythings been turned in yet for you. Good Luck and heres to a quick surgery date for you.

I learned when I was going through all the paper work phase to get all orignal copys sent to me. I then went and faxed things to the dr. I am so glad I did because the first place I went to and was approved closed their doos so I had to find another dr. If I had let them (DR'S) do all that for me I would have had to start from square one. If something like your physc evalation was faxed and you needed a copy for some other reason, you would have to pay to get a copy from the physc, and the surgeon could not send you a copy. The privacy act stops that. So I say go to the physc and get you a copy then if he will let him fax a copy to the other dr. But then you will have a copy if needed for the future if needed.

You can't fax the results yourself and you can't submit them to public aid for clearance that all has to be done by dr. vitello's office...but if I were you I would be on the psych to make sure that he has dictated your eval report to submit to dr. v's office first thing tomorrow morning...and if they haven't done it yet have them put a flag on your file to make sure it gets done...after it leaves his office then it will take 7-10 business days for dr. vitello's office to get the results in their hands and as long as dr. v has everything else that he needs from you then maryann will submit the paperwork for clearance and then it's anywhere from 10-14 days and here lately it's been taking 6-8 weeks for public aid to give clearance...  Ck~

I have copies of all my results, and I faxed them to my surgeon myself so if it  got lost I was covered.

There shouldnt be a problem with me faxing it to Dr. V's office myself. But not the ins im sure. Im headed to the psych doctor first thing in the morning to get it straightened out. Im hoping its been taken care of but im going to get my own copy to fax him also and copy it for myself. Then the waiting game I suspose.

Does he give the pre-op requirements after the aproval or before? Have you done any of them yet?

he will NOT give you any pre-op testings until all of the paperwork has been submitted to public aid for clearance and only once public aid gives their clearance to you....after you get your clearance letter from public aid then he will schedule you a pre-op appointment and give you the testings that he wants done then but NOT before then!!~ Ck~
