Shannon, during the EKG did you possibly move, cough, talk etc during it that could have caused it to show something abnormal? Maybe a wire was not hooked up properly or the machine was malfunctioning. Now, take a deep breath and exhale. Your doctors will go over it and decide what is best for you. You will get through this girl.

Hello Shannon. I am so sorry to hear about your EKG results. I know you got some great support from a nurse on the main board. Take some solace in the fact that this was identified prior to surgery. It may be nothing just a one time occurrence. But it is better to be safe than sorry. You have enough time prior to your surgery to resolve this issue. If you have to see the cardiologist and have a stress test, it's not so bad. The surgeon wants to make sure that you are in the best shape for the surgery.
Keep us posted. I'll keep you in my prayers! I will be away from Wednesday the 20th and returning on Saturday the 23rd.
Hugs,
Lucy

Don't get all worked up just yet. Mine came back abnormal too. Matter of fact, after the EKG came back abnormal, I was sent for a stress test. That also came back abnormal. I then was sent to a heart specialist and they did a cardiac catheterization and it came back normal. The specialist said that the Cardiac catheterization is the only real way to rule out any heart problems.
Everything will work out. Just stay positive and thank your lucky stars that if there is a problem, they found it before you had the surgery instead of while you were in surgery.

Shannon,
Take care of the heart first. Get WLS after. I started to get all the prestuff done for LapBand, then went to the heart Doctor. His first comment was, no way would he pass me for wls until I had a valve replacement and a by-pass done. It really didn't surprise me, since I knew I was needing it. ( I had been doctoring at St. John's with Dr. Mikell for years). Well, that is now done, and just have to hame Dr. Sauri ( heart) to release me to go back to schudule my wls.
Anyway, you have an excellent heart program at St. Johns, they will see to your problems.

Thank you everyone for the support. I think it was just that all the other tests went so easy. I also think the fact that it is the weekend and I cannot talk to anyone till monday. I do know that the morning of the test I got lost in Chicago and was a little stressed.....
I will keep all of you kind thoughts and prior experiences in my forthought so I do not panic......
Thanks Shannon
