Hi Barb! Glad to hear things are going well for you.  Like you, I was surprised at how well I fealt.  I had open but still was so surprised and the quick recovery I had.  We all have different experiences and I'm glad we were the lucky ones. Just take it easy, listen to your body and sip, sip, sip. Welcome home! Christina

Congratulations to you for your WL success.  Can you tell much difference in your COPD?  I have mild to moderate emphysema and am wondering how much COPD people's breathing improves after surgery.  I will probably be having WL surgery in about 6 months.  Best to you,

Janell

Hi Janell,

The difference is utterly amazing...and so quick!!  I could not take a even a few steps without shortness of breath and having to sit down.  I took combivent inhaler every 4 hours and Advair diskus twice a day and albuteral for all other times.  I'm not taking anything right now.  Unfortunately, I went through some major family problems and started smoking (again) after 3 years clean.  What a mistake!!  I stopped after 2 weeks (and I mean, I only smoked 1 cigarette a night) and I have had a respiratory infection which I've had for 4 weeks even with antibiotics and inhalers.  Sometimes we get to feeling so good that we feel superhuman....take my advise...we're not....we are just smaller!!  Good luck on trying to get WLS and keep in contact with me if you need to talk about it, have any questions or anything.  I'm always available!!
