I am home ( very long story)

Hi all, well I am home from my Vegas trip . My time in Vegas with my family was a blast, Not getting their and home again Well that is a hole differant story, So first I will tell you all about my visit. The two wedding were great and I loved seeing my cousin's that I have not seen in about 20 years, Boy they sure all did grow up, ( I am the oldest of the bunch) Any way I did visit with them and did a lot of talking about our child hood with their wifes ( my cousin's are all boys I am the only girl ), The dinner was good, then after dinner it was just me, my brother and his girl friend, so we went in the pool for a bit then  to the bar to listen to the music, and that was the end of my visit next morning back on the plane to come home, Now for my travel time, Friday, my bus was late getting to pick me up, and getting me to the airport. But I being as smart as I am though Hey take the early bus just in case, so that is what I did, So I am at the airport @ 5:30 for a 9:15 p,m flight, Ok I can deal with that, So I get to the gate where I am leaving out of, and wait, and wait and wait now it is about 8 p,m and the say the plane is going to be about 15 mim late, Not bad , then they tell us no now it is going to be 1 hr. late.  The plane got their and the rest of the trip was fine,          Now for my return flight home.    Plane is to leave at 12noon, so we get their at 9:30 and play some of the slots and visit with my mom brother and soon to be sister in law, so the time passes and the plane is on time, So now it is time for me to get to my gate and wait from the time to borad the plane, I say my good bye and my family leaves to go home, As I am waiting the tell us the plane is going to be late What 's new right, The plane finlley gets their at @ 1 p,.m and we borad the plane, Then we are told that the plane does not have any water for the bathroom, that something went out on it on its last flight. but now it is having   a computer problem and the  piolt   is tring to reset it. by this time we are already on the runway sitting, and it is a full plane sold out. , So then after sitting their for about 1 hr. we go back to the gate, and we sit , Now they are saying the plane it to heavy to flight with the heat on the run way, and the winds  so they needed 13 ppl to get off and rebook for another flight,  but after about 3 hrs or so they let us off the plane because something about the crew time was up and they could not work anymore hrs. so the told us that they would try to find us a new crew, but after about a 1hr the finlley canceled the flight by now it is 5:30 Remember my fright was due to take off @ noon, So some of the ppl had to say over night and take a flight home the next day, I did get a flight out that night at Midnight and got to Ohare this A,M, @ 5:30 A,M, and make it to the bus by 6:30 and was home by 8:30, I can say the only nice thing about the flight was that I got moved up to first class and that was nice  So that was my trip and it was also the first time I have ever traveled solo and I think I did very good for my self, I think I was doing better then Jim who was here at home and having a fit that I was stuck in Vegas, I laught about it and tell them you know what the say what happen in Vegas stay's in Vegas, Well now you can say who goes to Vegas stays in Vegas,

Janet,  I am so glad that you had a great time with your family. But the flight situation had to be so awful However to fly first class that might have made it worth it, LOL. I am so glad to read your profile and see you are doing so well. Glad you are back home safe and sound.  Rita  C_Shey

I love your last statement--"who goes to Vegas stays in Vegas"! I'll keep that in mind. I have a conference there in Sept and I haven't decided yet if I want to go since it is in Vegas. But the conference looks really neat and I want to learn the information. I thought about flying out of Rockford but the flights don't go on the right days.

Janet,  It seems you had a great time, even with the plane problems. And see, you are a big girl and you can travel by yourself.  Congrats on your weight lost. I knew you had loss lots, but didn't realize how much. With lapband, mine is sooo much slower. Glad you are home safe. Hugs

Welcome home Janet.  I'm so glad that you had a great time in Vegas, but sorry that it was such a nightmare flight home!

Welcome home...what airline were you flying?  They all are having problems.  Believe it or not the pilots get just as frustrated with all the chaos that happens too. They get rated on being on time and regardless of who's fault the delay is, they get the hit for it.  I love my hubby, he's a captain and he tries so hard to get everyone to where they need to be on time.  There is just no organization behind the scenes.  It's a huge mess.  I am so sorry for your travel delays.  That can be very frustrating. Glad you had fun with the family!  Congrats on your weight loss!

I was on US airways, Oh I am sure that the whole crew get frustrated and then they have to get everyone yelling at them, but I look at it this way maybe something was wrong with the plane, like I said the water pump went out so their was no****er on the plane for the bathroom and then something with the computer, they said they got it fixed but who is to say that it would have not gone out again in flight, Now that might have made for a bad trip,, I just glad that I am home and safe, Which airline does you HD work for?

He works for United...the one that just announced all the lay offs....fingers crossed!

I love United I have used United Ted in the past when HD and I have went to AZ. and I had no problems at all, I will keep   that he makes it through the lay offs.
