Tuesday Roll Call - Da Bears

Hello Everyone -
Sorry I've been mia lately.  I've been down sick with a cold and just trying to get thru the holidays.  I was supposed to be off tomorrow thru the fifth but since I've been out sick.. I have to work tomorrow and New Years Eve.  I'll be heading to Indy on Saturday to pick-up Madison, my granddaughter and to also have lunch with my Grandmother.  I'm looking forward to seeing her although I'm not sure I'm prepared to see her declining health.
So, not much to report other then I'm looking forward to spoiling Madison while she is here thru the 2nd.  
I hope everyone has a blessed holiday.

Hi Randy and all of Illinois..you are a poet I see.  I am shoveling and shoveling and it never stays clear.  I am taking a rest right now because I am worn out.  I am feeling full of energy.  I want to wish everyone a Blessed Christmas and a healthier New Year.  I think of you all often and remember you in my prayers.  Stay warm.

Losing battle until after tomorrow night I think since there is to be snow and icy rain until six pm here.  We are supposed to be out to a function during the day tomorrow and one in the evening.  Not real sure those will work out.  We will have to see what the road crews do as both would normally only be fifteen minutes away.

 Hi everyone!

I am in the hospital.  The surgery  was yesterday.  Dr R had to repair a huge hernia.  He said he had never seen one that large.  Other than that, everything went well.

I have been sleeping most of the time.  My parents were going to come visit, but canceled out due to weather.  My DH had a 2 hour drive to make it here (to mostly watch me sleep)

My IV came out around 1pm.  I have been on 3 walks today.  Dr R wants 10 total.  I did notice feeling queasy after the walk, or if I am fully upright.

 I have been feeling parched.  I was given ice chips, (they didn't bring them fast enough during the night)  but was glad to move to ice water in a cup.


They need to check me over.  I'll post again.

Ilse,   Glad all went well!  I was checking in to see how things went for you.  Now do not forget to sip,sip, sip........walk,walk, walk then    REST!

Glad things went well.  Sorry about the hernia repair.  Did you know you had a hernia goiong in?  Nice of you to set a record for the biggest one!

I loved those ice chips in the hospital.  Mine were rationed but I kept requesting them as often as possible. 

Remember that the more that you walk and move, the better you will feel.  Sounds impossible but it really does work that way.  Gentle hugs and welcome to the loser's bench!

I had my barium test today.  That went well.  Not much else to report.  New slippers are working out great.  Glad I brought my robe instead of relying on another gown.  Have managed the washroom a couple of times.  Not much coming out.

Very cool.  Do you have wi/fi in your room?  I was just wondering about you before you checked in.  I was thinking that I knew  St. Alexius had a Starbucks but doubted they had Wi/Fi and thinking your hospital was down South.

 I have completed 9 out my 10 walks Dr R wanted me to do.   I am supposed to track my water-not so easily done.  I had almost run out earlier this afternoon.  I asked for more.  I finally got more an hour later.  That was annoying.  

This hospital is a little bit south of Butterfield Rd.  They do have WiFi here.
