I'm less than 24 hours away from my surgery and I'm filled with all kinds of emotions. I'm at work and can't hardly concentrate!!! Definitely super excited to say GOOD-BYE TO THE 300s and HELLO to the 200s (first goal). To all those who'll be banded at the same time or around the same time, I'll be thinking of you as we make this journey together. I'll be back to let you all know how it goes.

SN: I'm sooo tempted to have my last big-mac....LOL....cause Optifast is getting annoying...lol...anyone felt that way ?!?!

If you are staying overnight in the hospital, don't forget chapstick!!  that was my best friend in there.

Good Luck on your surgery tomorrow!  I remember what I was like the day before I had mine. I was so excited and nervous. If you are staying overnight , take advantage of the nursing staff to help you walk around. Stay on top of the pain. The worse pain is the gas pain so make sure you walk all that you can and get in your fluids. You will be swollen for quite a few days so don't be alarmed.

Once again good luck!

Absolutely walk, walk, walk then walk some more. Yep, chapstick and a good pillow to hold your stomach (and have a little feeling of home).

By the third day at home I started feeling sick...kinda flu like. I decided to get up and do my laps around the house...come to find out, thats just what I needed, I felt so much better.

Good Luck and try to get some sleep tonight!

Congrats !!!! You will do fine. All the things you are feeling I felt too my surgery was Monday . I suggest to take with you to the hospital chapstick it is a luxury after surgery! Also throw a pillow in the car to put on the tummy for the ride home. Things to do to make it easier.... walk as soon as they will let you ! you will thank yourself later .It moves the gas so much better.Ask for pain meds if you feel like you need them.SIP (this one was kinda hard for me the sipping not drinking) liquids as often as possible and take it easy and rest when you need too .This is so exciting !!!! You just gotta be patient with yourself and let the emotions come and go  they are normal.:) You can expect to be kinda sore the first night so take your pain meds and then I am on day 3 and am not taking them as often so the pain gets better everyday. For me it is really not pain but soreness actually!  Oh and have plenty of pillows to prop you up in bed when you get home. That is more comfy .
GOOD LUCK !!!! :)

You will be fine.   Just remember that if you will allow God to take control and put him 1st in your life everything else just falls right into place.  I am 5 days post-op and I laugh at all the fears I had pre-op.  Try to get to the hospital a little early and do a 5 or 10 min walk right before surgery to get your blood moving.  Then as soon as possible get up and get moving to get that gas out.  The gas was the only real big deal!!  Good luck and God Bless......

Good luck and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Just remember it REALLY does get better each day and moving will help, even if you don't think it will.  i remember reading that like "yea, right".  LOL  It really did help and was normally the best I felt them first couple days.

You'll do great!

Best of luck tomorrow!  I am having my gall bladder out tomorrow.  I'm more nervous about it than I was VSG.  Isn't that nuts?!

We will both be fine and on our way to healthier new us!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Hello, I had my surgery on Monday. If I can help you at all it will be to tell you this, everyone will have a different response to the surgery. Please be prepared for the pain, I made lite of the pain, not thinking it would be any big deal..I was wrong. Take your meds and follow instructions to the "t". I had to stay an extra day because of complications...but that is my body, issues that normally wouldnt occur with the lapband surgery. I am home and very thankful. I am in alot of pain, but should get better day by day...goos luck to you, u are just a few hrs away now..blessings to u, Franni
