Most insurance companies do not cover tummy tucks. Some may cover a pani removal if you meet requirements like how far down it hangs and a medical history of infections, rashes, etc.

I was able to have the operating room paid for (time, doctor, operating room, anesthesia, etc) to have my port changed to a low profile port, and then my plastic surgeon rode off of that time paid for by my insurance to do my tummy tuck. My costs were about half of what it would normally have cost.

Topic: No restriction and two lapband fills and i'm self pay so upset

Hi guys Ive been banded since 2006 lost over hundred pounds going from 256 to 155. My insurance no longer covers my fills so I pay 250 per fill and ive hand two of them and I have zero damn restriction and ive gained 30 damn pounds with the fils.I'm so scared that i'm going to end up being 256 again and I don't know why my band is no longer restricting me.It will work fine for a day or two than the restriction will go away.I was doing so good now I feel helpless and fat all over again. What is wrong with my band? smh so digusted.

I had my lapband in 2007. I now have lots of loose skin in my stomach area. Does Insurance cover a tummy tuck for lapbanders? I have BCBS of NC insurance. I thought I'd ask here first. I will eventually call my insurance company.  thank you

Thank you so much for your reply!!! It gives me so much hope. I met with my new doctor and he also shared your view which is that I can still accomplish what I set out to do back in 2007 if I have the determination. Your story is amazing and I'm so happy for you!
