Topic: Leak, tilted port or what ???

So I went and had a barum swallow to test for erosion and good new - no eroded band!!!

I am seeing my dr that banded me on Monday to test for a leak - the Dr that did the barrum swallow said he thought the port was tilted a little bit and that he could not get the needle in.

Could it be that there is no leak and they just haven't had the needle in right ?

Has anyone had a titled port ?

That's OK, Nic!  Realise you weren't aiming at me! It was the last poster who highjacked it by apparently not realising I wasn't asking how long the band lasted but asking WHERE it was stated.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Oh, and Kate? I'm sorry... I hadn't realized I posted this on your thread. I AM happy for you that your band is working for you, sincerely!

So I had the band removes yesterday.  Dr. Said he removed see scar tissue and everything else went well.  I was in some really bad pain last night but I feel much better today.  The pain was mainly around the port area.  I am officially on my road to healing!!!  My dr put me on clear liquids but he didn't specify how long although in recovery they told me to eat crackers to take the pain meds?  Lol. I feel fine on the inside its my port that is the worst...thank you all for your positive vibes.

I've been saying this since about 2005!  Sooner or later people realize the truth. It's a bad long term device. For me, it was a bad short term device, too.

I have been told my many Doctors in Raleigh NC that the band does not work. People are coming in like crazy asking for removal of the band. Doctors won't even do the band any more. Where was all this info 4 yrs ago!!

There are many gastric bypass supplements out there that you can consider after the surgery. However, it is important that you take your doctor’s advice to pick the right supplement for you.
