Unfortunately this forum isn't very active as many folks have had their bands removed and revised to another WLS. There are a few that still have the band, but they don't post much.
Many doctors and insurances are no longer covering or performing band surgeries due to the long term complications that have arouse from the band. Please make sure if you get any stuck feelings, reflux, or left shoulder pain you go see your surgeon. After having my band for 13 years I had it removed and revised to the bypass. I no longer have reflux, but I still get left shoulder pain due to damage done from the band.
Best of luck to you.

Hello Jen
I would talk to your Dr and ask him to give you a slight unfill. It sounds like you are to tight. maybe start with having 1/2 cc removed. That might help with food getting stuck and food choices. Mine would get tight for no reason and I would have fluid taken out. If you have any questions please message me. Hope you get some help.

Lapband - Jan 2009 weight goal reached with lapband. Revised to VSG- 1/25/16
Thank you for sharing this with us. This is what I am afraid of. I haven't had surgery yet, but what I was most worried about is the fact that I want to have a big family and I had heard these things happen when you have the band.
WOW. I wonder if this is the reason dr's have been pushing me to get the gastric sleeve instead of the band!!! I had NO idea, thank you for this post!

Hello!
If you go to the top of the screen you will see a little settings button (cog wheel/flower looking thing?) click there, then choose the "my friends" then you will see invite or accept, me invite to you should be under the accept heading - click on that and we should be good to go!
Excited? Not long now!!

Yay Sylvia, it will be great to have someone to share notes with as we go through the post op days.
And technically we are having surgery the same day as the 18th in US = 19th NZ!
Will keep in touch - all the very best to you, sounds like we have a similar story!

I am excited to be back on my journey. Little update i had gastric bypass Roux n Y in 2005 and lost a total of 150 lbs. Over the last 11 years i did gain back a normal amount of weight which was 50lbs. I don't want my weight to go any higher. A recent cat scan when i had a kidney stone issue showed I had a hiatus hernia so i figured it was time to find a bariatric surgeon for the hernia and also wanted to be banded to loosed the 50 lbs and keep myself at a safe healthy weight for myself.
SO i have my new surgery 6/15... apparently the hernia was really bad and wrapped around my pouch but was long but got repaired. THE band was put on. So far i have lost 20 lbs. I get my first adjustment August 5th... just wanted to tell my story a little and learn more about the success and issues of banding!
