Hi Gals,  I have had the craziest past few days!  First of all we bought a "big girl" bed for our daughter on Saturday.  I feared that I would not be able to lift her into the crib post surgery.  She has adjusted fine.  I think I'm the one who's broken hearted.  My baby is not a baby anymore.  Monday I had my Echo, EKG, and Chest Xray. Then worked evening shift.  Tuesday had PFT and Ultrasound.  Have any of you ever your blood gases drawn.  OUCH!  That hurt way more than I expected.  I also had to work last night and again tonight!.  I don't normally pick up this many shifts, but they are available and I'm taking as many as possible before surgery.  The only thing left to do is the EGD.  I think I'm more nervous about that than surgery....  It's been really difficult to keep things on the down low as far as not telling people at work since I work at the hospital I'm having surgery and all my testing at.  i know people will inevitably find out, but I just don't need everyone's opinion before hand.  i keep telling myself...It is what it is.  It's my choice to do something about MY health now.  I try not worry about what other people think most of the time, but  it still bothers me sometimes.  Anyway my EGD is on the 29th and then hopefully I'll be cleared for the 9th!!! Yipee.  Have a great  day ladies!

Boy you are getting a lot of testing done quickly.  I too work in the hospital I am having surgery.  It is difficult. I have told some people.  I hear a lot of " you don't look like you need surgery"  "there will be nothing left to you"  I just want to be healthy.  Some have been really supportive though.  But I have not told many people.  Too many like to offer their opinions.   Hope things progress quickly and you have your surgery date soon!!!

isn't it exciting?  I had all kinds of last minute crap done yesterday too, I was ready to punch someone out, after waiting and waiting, and all the nurses all chit chatting and I'm sitting there alone... what the H$%*....... I was hungry, didn't they know that? I ate so fast for supper I almost choked.  you made me remember when you talked of your baby and crib, we had to take our son out of his crib at 9 months, he wasn't even walking, didnt walk til he was 14 months. but he climbed out of his crib and once he found out, he did it over and over again. he was so cute, he was giggling like he was so proud of himself.  my dh and I were sitting out in the living room, and all of a sudden we comes crawling out into the LR.  we looked at each other like we were going nuts. hehe,  Memories.... now he is 27 and dont ' need me, or hug me no more.... but mama would still hold him on her lap... he is 6'2" and 280 lbs. (or more)

Keela..Congrats on having so much of your testing done!  That is awesome!  You are so close and doing so well!  You'll be joining us soon!  My ABG hardly hurt at all...that's weird!  Actually, I think it hurt less than a regular blood draw!  Maybe the girl who did mine was just nice..who knows?  Congrats!  Ruth
