EGD tomorrow
Hi all, Just a quick request for some prayers as I am having my EGD tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it at all. The anesthesia doctor said I would not even know that anything happened and not to wory, but the thought of them sliding a camera down my throat makes me more than a little anxious. I know this is nothing compared to the surgery, but still...yuck. My dh says it only takes about 15 minutes, so I'm sure I'll be fine. By the way, complications....Have any of you had any recently. The reason I ask is, a couple GB patients, have been in for issues like obstructions and such and I'd like know how common this really is, or if it's just a weird coincedence. I hate having my dh working in the OR. He always tells me these nightmare stories about GB and it just stresses me out. At least it used to. Now nothing is going to get me down, because I have faith that I will be fine and that I will not have complications. I know this may sound foolish to some, but I believe God has lead me to this point and will protect and heal me. 10 days to surgery!!!!! Yippeee

Keela, everything will be fine, the first thing you need to do is tell your DH, not to tell you those stories. This is a big decision, and scarry too, I was more scared about the future then the actual surgery. but, you dont' need to be more stressed. You'll do fine, and before you know it you'll be dropping those pounds like all the other successful girls on here. You wait before youknow it, you'll be saying, I love it, I love meeeee.... keep the faith it will be over before you know. Good Luck, Cheryl
Hi Keela! Don't sweat the EGD! I had to have a colonoscopy and EGD at the same time. The bowel prep for the colonoscopy was the worst part! The test itself is nothing! They kinda put you out (at least I was) for a short time and I don't remember anything after they asked me to roll onto my side! It was easy peasy! (I like those words! ha) Good luck with your EGD! Prayers and honks to you!!!!!!!!! Ruth
hang in there. it's not so bad. i've had no complications so far and i'm over 2 months out. the only "problems" i've had is getting to know my pouch. i've been sick a couple of times but that was my fault. i either ate too fast, too much or the wrong things. so far so good and i love my new life. you will do great. just hang in there.
