I thought maybe it was the HIGH amount of real proteins I was eating in a short 15minute time frame but this has happened a few times before.
I do still have my gall bladder. All other things are ok before and after this feeling.

I"m no doctor, but I would suggest that you see yours if this keeps up.  Does the food stay down?  Are your bm's different after such an episode? Do you still have your gall bladder?

Yup, it'd be worth a trip to your doc to figure it out.

You are welcome to join us for coffee South of the River every Saturday morning.  We meet at alternate locations:  this Saturday is at the Panera Bread in Burnsville Center mall.  Thefollowing Saturday is at Caribou Coffee located inside the Byerly's in Eagan by Town Center.  We meet at 8:30 and go 'til 10am or so, depends on what time people have.

We welcome people at all stages of the process, so please plan on coming!  We'd love to have you.  In Panera, we usually sit just inside the door--there's a set of tables with a long bench on one side--look for the folks with lots of water bottles, etc.  :-)

I had RnY with Dr. Schwartz' former partner Dr. Chute.  I have heard all good things about Dr. Schwartz.  I think you would be in good hands, but I have no personal experience with him.

Topic: Revision/new here/Questions
Hello everyone!

My name is Amy and I am new here.  I had a Vertical banding with stapling in 2001.  I am currently in the process of seeing Dr.swartz st.paul heath east, for possible revision.  I was 429lbs when I had my first procedure done got down to about 330 pretty much maintain that.  I am thinking about the RNY or the DS switch as a revision.  I spend more time in pain and throwing up more than anything else.

So wondering a few things.
1. Has Any one on here dealt with dr.Swartz on a revision
2. Any one got any advice on revisions?
3. Or any Advice on the RNY or DS?

I see that you guys have a meeting I believe on saturdays can someone fill me in more on that.

Thank you everyone!!!!

You're awesome Renee - going to try the Torchlight next week - even if I have to walk a lot of it, I will be showing up and trying.

Thanks for the inspiration darlin!

Dr. Benn gave me an incredible tool.. and I intend to make the most out of it!!

Topic: Monday morning after vacation (for me!) weigh-in
Hi all:

Hope your summer is bringing you everything you want.  I'm really glad the heat wave broke--last Wednesday's 5-mile race was a killer!  But we survived, right Steph?  And burned lots of calories in the process.

Apparently I have been eating enough to keep up with the burn, more's the pity.  My weight is actually up after this weekend.  I didn't track carefully what I was eating, and I was lenient on myself because of the exercise, so....  Not tragic, but now I need to buckle down.

Starting weight:  298.4
Last week: 138.5
This week: 140.4
Gain of 1.9 lbs this week

Paul:  run mileage for the week: 16.4 miles running, plus 11.1 miles on the bike, which doesn't sound quite right, but that's what I have recorded.  I know I skipped one bike ride because of the heat last week.  Time to beef up the run mileage now that the triathlon is over.  Next up is the Torchlight 5K, the Run for Blood and then the Lady Speed Stick Half Marathon in August.  Gotta get running!

We've also had people bring kids--don't worry about that.  They might get bored with adult talk, depends on ages, but sometimes parents set the kids up with books, or Nintendo, or phone games, etc.

This coming Saturday, July 14th, should be at Panera in Burnsville Center at 8:30am.  Everyone is welcome!

Topic: RE: Saint Paul Surgeons
I just recently had my VSG performed by Dr. Kelly at SPS. Loved him. I had a long process as my insurance required 6 months supervised diet etc. But I am grateful for the process after all is said and done. They do more than RNY, of course, but I think that is the most popular because it's been around the longest and has the best results. I chose VSG because there were less side effects. You are welcome to choose any surgery you would like. My sister is also going through SPS and she is getting a band.

I loved the clinic. They were very accommodating. United Hospital was pretty good (I only have St. Johns to compare to and they were PHENOMENAL when I had my daughter - so I can't quite give United a 5-star review LOL)

All in all - I recommend the clinic ten-fold. Good luck!

Hi and welcome! I had my RNY done through SPS in the beginning of May. My surgeon was Dr. McGreevy. He is absolutely wonderful! United hospital (the hospital they do the surgery at) is the best hospital I have ever been to! They treat their patients wonderfully. I will also give you this information. Of the surgeons through SPS McGreevy is the only one who will perform an endoscopy to fix a stricture. The others do not do it, they have him. He is newer through them but he is very friendly and a wonderful dr! Feel free to add me and ask any questions you have!
