Hi everyone -
Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi! I am having a VSG with Ikramuddin at the U next Wednesday.
Anyone else use him or would like to share their experience with me?

Hello!
I was down .4 this week. I'll take it! :) Even though my loss has slowed I am still getting smaller- it's been crazy shopping this week buying size 12 and LARGE with NO X. I'm still in disbelief!!! I think I need to take some pix of myself because I just don't see myself that size...
I'm still inspired by your running even on your "off" weeks! :)
Soon- I need to get on my bike.
Have a great week, everyone!! :)

Good morning everyone! As usual, after a rainy, gloomy weekend, I am back at work with the sun shining! Bleh.
Still trying to get my run mojo back after the half-marathon. I ran so few miles last week, Paul you are in for a break!! Only 11.3 miles last week. It showed on the scale, too, because it is quite hard to scale back the eating when you are scaling back the running. I think sometimes I eat more when I am not running, maybe because I have more time on my hands, or maybe because the running itself suppresses appetite. Not sure, maybe both.
I'm planning to make this week better, although I didn't start well--only ran 2.88 miles yesterday, when it should have been a long run day. My legs felt like lead. I did take my B12 shot last night, and woke up with more energy this morning. I really think it helps me--anybody else feel that way?
Starting weight: 298.4
Last week: 140.7
This week: 141.9
Gain of 1.2 lbs this week
Anyway, somebody help me kick my mojo in the butt and get it back where it belongs!!

My situation is similar, but I don't drink alcohol...I eat chocolate. I know it doesn't sound the same and I know it sounds stupid. But I get crabby and irriitable if I don't eat it and I think about it all the time. I have been known to go for "walk" (so my BF doesn't know what I'm going to do) and I'll walk to the gas station and buy 2 or 3 candy bars and have at least gone by time I get home and hide the others to eat while I sit and do homework or am on the computer. I feel so out of control and unable to stop. So while I may not be drinking, I understand addiciton...

I made my goal this week to no longer be obese- yay!!!!!!! I was so close last week. This week I was down 2 more pounds and so have made the goal and surpassed it a bit which feels good. Next goal is 175, about 8 more pounds. I don't really have an end goal in mind, so at this point, we'll just see how things go I guess...

Good Monday morning, everyone!
I am happy to report that I am walking, NOT limping, today, after running my first half-marathon on Saturday. WOOT! We did it, 13.1 miles in the cold, windy rain. I even brought my finisher's medal to work today to show it off,
I didn't take it off at all on Saturday.
My weight is still up from last week--I took the carb-loading seriously, LOL. But I did actually burn quite a bit off--there's something wonderful to be said for a sport that burns almost 1500 calories in one race.
Starting weight: 298.4
Last week: 137.9
This week: 140.7
Gain of 2.8 lbs this week
Paul: since my knee was wonky mid-week, and I was tapering for the race, my mileage is down a bit. Of course, I do get to count Saturday. So run mileage for the week was 25 miles on the dot. I also did elliptical on one day for an additional 3.7 miles.
So everybody, we need to decide on a new 5K goal: The Twin Cities Mile has been suggested, also the Torchlight 5K in July. I also know there's a couple of free 5Ks coming up--Ben Davis will be in town with his "Do Life" tour on May 29th, and he'll have a free 5K run that evening. If you're not familiar with him, he lost 120 lbs on his own, started running and does motivational speaking. His website is: bendoeslife.tumblr.com/
There is also the Eagan 5K Your Way on May 19th. Check out www.cityofeagan.com/events for the scoop on that one. Lots of good kid activities at that event, too.
