Topic: RE: Protein Powders & vitamins
Thanks so much to everyone of you; ruthann49, sussmack2004, CaperGal, oakley39 and Ang in NS. Your information helped immensly in choosing a protein powder and vitamin. I was away at my brothers during their march break and was able to get down to Costco to get some Kaizen whey isolate powder and a magic bullet. I also picked up some greek yogert which i have yet to try. I took a sip of the protein shake, just made with skim milk..and i must say it tasted just like a milkshake. wow..41 grams of protein just with skim milk is unreal. I had had my breakfast already so my brother had the rest and he was very impressed, and wants to get some chocolate flavor for himself, for he is increasing his proteins as docs orders. I think i will play with the amounts so that i wont overdose on protein...did everyone find it a juggling act to find the best combos? I find with a 1200 cal a day i get lots of protein in my choices...and feel filled.

You can't get the sugar free here in Canada. I just use the regular kind. I don't use it very often anymore. I make my own shakes with protein powder.

and I'm hungry. Not emotional or psychological hungry - I'm physically hungry. My gut is growling at me constantly for food. Still following the post-op full fluid diet but honestly feel like I could easily advance to soft foods. I know I can't but I really want to. Appriciate any tips anyone can offer.

I don't know - don't use them. I'm using the whey protein powder from Wal-Mart. Sells for 16.97 for a 2 pound container. I'm really enjoying the Cookies and Cream - dislike the strawberry which shocked me b/c I usually like strawberry flavoured anything but find this leaves an undesirable aftertaste.
