You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Topic: RE: Sick of buying clothes in every size
In the Cleveland area there is a consignment shop called Curvy Consignments. That shop has been an absolute god-send. I have gotten great clothes at really inexpensive prices. And I have dropped off bags of clothes that they are selling for me. Here's the link if you are interested: http://www.curvyconsignments.com/

SFmimi--do you have franklin co. insurance?
Riverside
s program is now 3 months for FC folks.
Osu's program is either 3 or 6 mos. but Insurance requires 3 months. I am asking to do the 3 months, but they are telling me it might be more. Will call today to see.
Thanks ladies!

I don't think people paid more. I know the fees for each hospital can vary. OSU is $300 for the classes but they don't charge an admin fee to process the paper work. The other hospitals have different amounts. I don't know of any difference in a copay. You can sign up for each hospitals class on there websites.
I have been happy with the post op care. They see you at 2 weeks, 6 weeks and 6 months. During those appointments you see a dietitian too. I had a stricture and they didn't require me to come in, the nurse called and asked questions and set up the procedure to fix it.
I'm doing good. I had the RNY. I just advanced to a step 4 diet. I'm not sure about tolerating other foods right now but it will get better.

Topic: So exited about 3 year anniversary support group meeting
My friend Marlene and I started our support group * Little by Little* 3 years ago this coming up May....We have met some really great people and enjoy having them in our group...Our meetings are fun, but yet educational...We try to do new things each month so they don't get tired and bored of the same ole thing...We are constantly coming up with something different to make them want to come back...Our group may be little, approx 12 of us, but we will continue to hold the meetings up until no one comes back...Which hopefully that won't ever happen...Marlene and I are in the process of writing up a story/ along with picture of us to submit to two of our local papers...Our May meeting will consist of us celebrating our 3 year anniversary...We have lots of fun things planned...One of the girls Janett is going to sing for us...Shes FANTASTIC...Then Wayne will read some poetry, as he writes his own and is very good at it...One of the girls, Gayle is going to do a Food Bingo game, with wrapped food as gifts for the winners...Food such as Fruit, protein bars, and etc...We also will have a segment /discussion about some healthy topic, a topic that I haven't decided upon yet...Marlene and I will be doing a skit, dressed as two old wishy washy washer women...We will also have a carry in meal where everyone will bring a healthy covered dish...We feel that having meals helps to teach others about how they can fix healthy foods to take to carry ins, family get togethers and etc...We also share our recipes for our dishes...With all this said, I am so anxious and excited about our upcoming meeting...Marlene and I have a small gift for everyone, plus we are giving away a really nice Door prize...Everyone is to bring a small wrapped gift for a fun game we will be playing...We meet in the basement of a local church in Greenville, Ohio on the first Tuesday of each month...There is a chair to help those down the steps who arent able to do the steps...There are No membership fees...You don't have to have had surgery in order to attend...If anyone is interested in coming to our anniversary meeting/party, please feel free to message me for more details...
Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only TRUE FRIENDS will leave footprints in your heart...And may that friendship have such a ONENESS that when one weeps the other will taste salt...Friends are like balloons ; once you let them go you can't get them back....So I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.

The waiver thing is new, at least for me. I work for the state and had my sleeve at Riverside a year ago. Had to do the 6 months.

Thanks for the reply Bri. They now say I can do the 3 month pre-op but say it may be more money. Does not make sense.
How was your post op care?
How are you doing now? Did you have a sleeve?
