I want to eat

I went to my nutrition class today. I never thought in my life I would be excited to eat some refried beans, but baby bring it on! I get to have soft foods on Wednesday and I am ready. I have done really good on the liquids but starting yesterday I started feeling hunger. Since I haven't eaten in 11 days I am pretty sure this isn't head hunger.

On a side note I have lost 12 pounds since surgery! Yeah for me!

Way to go girl!  You've got this - you are almost there!  Congrats on the weight loss - you are rockin' your new tummy.

I'll let you in on a little secret...I had my first mushies the night before AND I had Jessica's blessing.  (the nut)  I work and I thought that if I was gonna get sick, I'd rather do it at home.  So I had some cottage cheese the night before (that would be Tuesday night for you) an it did taste good.  And I was AMAZED at how fast I got full.  It was the first time I figured out that I actually did have surgery and got what I paid for.  LOL!

Hunger is a totally different sensation to me now.  I never get that "eek, my guts are grinding" feeling anymore.  It's more like, "ooh, I feel empty" now.

Let us know how those mushies taste!  I will be a little slice of heaven, I know!

I never liked beans till I had this surgery. It was a standing joke in my family, I was the only one who didn't care for them. Well refried beans with some melted cheese was my first meal and I thought I had died and went to heaven.

I admit, I am the rebel of the group here.  I couldn't stand refried beans before WLS and I can't stand them anymore now.  My first meal was ricotta cheese with spaghetti sauce and parmesan on top.  Next meal, mashed potatoes (the instant kind, not real ones).  I know the WW people for sure aren't supposed to have those, but I was not told any different and they were very easy for me to eat.  I think the next meal after that was gumbo (and to this day, almost 5 years later, I'm still on a gumbo kick).  It's amazing how I still recall these things!  Hope you have a good day of mushies~ *hugs*

Jennifer, I did the same as GlitterGal...I had some cottage cheese the night before I should have started eating.  I did fine with it and it ended up being only a few bites...it was awesome.....  Just be careful, eat slowly, small bites and be SURE to listen to your tummy because he talks!!!!  ((hugs))

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

With the others, and had cottage cheese the night before.  OMG!! was the best thing I have ever had.  I will NEVER, EVER!!!!! have s.f. lemon jell-o again or probably any s.f. jell-o again as long as I live.  My wife and I already have our graves and head stones (I know, creepy).  After a lot of convincing, I finally got to put on mine, "I died and went to heaven, and all I got was this lousy tombstone".        My wife's side was boring, and said "Wife, teacher, friend"    After I finally won, she added to the bottom of hers, "But I spent most of my time praying for him", and has an arrow pointing to my side.  Hmmm, tad rude, I thought.  I go out regularly to make sure she hasn't put the "second" date on my side.  I am thinking of adding to my side, "I hate sugar free jell-o!"   (I so get off on tangents that are not related to the subject.  But, as I was typing, it made sense!)   ANYWAY, enjoy the soft foods, it is wonderful.  At first, stop before you feel you are even full.  Don't know about anyone else, but my "fullness" didn't kick in at first for about 5-10 minutes after I stopped eating.    Congrats on making it through the 2 weeks, Michael

You go girl!!!!  Mushies never tasted so good to me!  I actually hate refried beans but loved them and thought they were the best food ever after going 14 days with no food.  Of course, I am back to hating them again now that I can eat regular food again! LOL!
