Wow, I am so glad that I didn't give up..I used to love yougurt but I have not been able to eat it as it has upset my stomach. I heard about the greek yougurt and tried the oikos brand and did NOT like it. I have heard people raving about the Fage and i got some a few days ago. It is the first time i saw it at the store. I was scared that this would not sit well either. well today I finally broke down and tried the total with the side of cherry....OMG it is so gooooooooood!!
if it sits well tonight I am definatly having more. I ate the whole 5.3 oz thing. wow. the great thing is that everything tastes extra sweet to me now and this yougurt is wonderfully tart and you can mix as much of the sweet as you like. I think I may try the plane full fat with some boysenberry jelly  yum!!
I see the 0%, 2%, and 5% have more protien, but do they taste the same? some of the lower fat things bother my stomach more.

i've been lactose intolerant (outside of harder cheeses) for well over a month now.  and it bites.  i teased the monster this weekend and had success with lactaid this time!  i mean, i couldn't have milk with lactaid for a while...  but now i can in moderation!

may the lactose gods shine on you as well!!!

I like the Fage total with a few packets of splenda or Z sweet (erythritol).  I cannot, will not, eat Fage totally plain.  Tastes like a mouth full of expensive and thick sour ass.  Needs some sweetness for me.

I've never tried the fruit ones.  I guess if you want to make your own fruit flavor, you can add some jam/jelly, then you can control the sugar content.  I dunno though...for me, it might still need additional sweetener with just some jelly added.

Oikos is fine, but it's just not as good as the Fage because it's fat free.  Fage is velvety and oikos is more liquidy like traditional yogurt.  I like Fage 2% alright, too.  It's got more of the smooth texture, but it's still thick.

Just can't beat the Fage total though!  I love that stuff!  I dunno if you'll be able to eat a whole 7 oz container though.  It is pretty thick and it's still kinda filling for me even at 1 year out.

ETA: if you're having problems with lactose intolerance, you should really try adding lactaid tablets before consuming dairy.  Then you get to enjoy your dairy without the consequences.

I think the full fat may be less bothersome to you because it has fewer sugars, and since the sugars in plain yogurt are in the form of lactose, that'd be a pretty good reason why you have less problems with it.

Kayla it was you I was thinking of i just couldnt remember your name, I did remember you talking about the fage!!!!
it is sour but I found that if i scoop some of the yogurt and then dip the spoon just a teeny bit in the cherry flavor it is sweet enough to cut the sour but not too sweet. This is great becaue I could never figure somthing to eat first thing and I am getting some good probiotics, calcium, and a not too sweet treat!!!!
The fruit they have in there is like if you have seen the fruit you can buy in a can to make pies with.
it makes it just sweet enough that I would not be able to eat the fruit flavor if I had added a sweetner. Also the artificial sweetners have not been sitting well with me.

I'll be stopping by Wegman's today; maybe I'll pick up some Fage to try again.  The honey one was my favorite before surgery.  I wish the small ones weren't so darn expensive !

I never understood why, those of us lactose intolerant as to straight milk after DS, can eat all the cheese, butter, even cottage cheese we want without the LI rearing its head, many times  ..      I've even been able to eat some ice creams w/o any problems ..

Do they add something to these milk products that cancels out the LI effect or something?
