Hi everyone
Hi There Everyone
Sorry I haven't been around for sometime life just seems to get in the way.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Right now I am trying to find a surgeon who will do both hiatus hernia as well as abdominal one at the same time anyone know of any in Ontario??
Don't want to have to have two surgeries If I can get away with just the one.
Hoping all the old timers like myself are doing well, and those waiting or just staring out I wish you all the best.
Take care everyone
*Hugs*

It's not very unlikely that you will find one, for a very good reason. Any surgery involving the bowels has risk of infection. Your bowel that has herniated may have significant adhesions- they will need to be taken down. Which can result in perforation- and infection.
The diaphragm - site of hiatus hernia is has the lungs on one side, abd contents below- including spleen/liver etc. You really don't want infection in any of those organs.
Dr. Klien did my hiatus hernia repair. It is one of his specialty designations- benign disease of the esophagus. That is how I started this process- a referral for HH repair. He might be a good choice for the HH repair as he does bariatric surgery -very knowledgable about anatomy post WLS. He does revisions and takes care of people- fixes bad surgeries- who had WLS elsewhere who had complications- Costa Rica, Mexico etc.

I had a really bad hernia above my belly button and Dr John Hagen from the MIS group who is a general surgoen specializing in Bariatrics at HRRH did mine for me ...He was my surgeon for referral for RNY but I took another DR trained by him so I could my RNY sooner, you might want to contact his office or get your GP to refer.......He is located at Dufferin and Lawrence for his office visits but operates out of HRRH for procedures. He is a really wonderful caring doctor and he might be worth being referred to!
