For those of you who are losing weight (or will be) and don't want to spend a lot of money on new clothes that you'll be too big for soon (and you don't want to keep depending on Value Village) Penningtons has a great sale on spring/summer clothes right now.  50% off the lowest price tag of sale items!  I got 2 tops, which would have originally cost me about $75, for $25 - and I bought them at Size 1X instead of my current 3-4X.  So looking forward to putting them on this summer (surgery and God-willing)!!

PS - They also sell a type of "Spanx" there.  Looks exactly the same.  If you go to www.penningtons.ca you can see what they have for regular shopping.  They're called "Shapewear".

I love Value Village.  At home we call it V-squared Boutique.  The clothes are inexpensive and Earth friendly (being not new production).

Since my surgery will be May 26, my plan is to make a few XL skirts with elastic waist bands (I currently wear 2x-3x-depending upon spandex quotient) and tighten the elastic as I shrink.  Then I will buy new pants in the fall.  This is absolutely THE PERFECT time of year to do this.

I also have BAGS AND BAGS of clothing ranging from size L-2x.  I should be fine for clothing.

I am hoping that by summer I will be losing like crazy but I needed a few staples to hold me over until then. I bought about 10 items for $129.

I hit the sale at Pennington's too & got a lot of great things for summer and they were such great prices!  Plus, for ever $75 you spend, you get a coupon redeemable in June for $40 off your purchase - so it ends up costing you only $35! I love  Value Village too but our local store recently had an infestation of bedbugs and now I'm too afraid to shop there. There was a story in the paper about it and one of the cashiers showed my sister & I a bunch of bite marks on her inner arms that she claimed were from sorting out merchandise in the store. I just don't want to take a chance on that........

I wasn't trashing V2, I was just using them as an example of recycled clothing.  Sometimes you just can't find what you want, so a sale like this is a good opportunity if you need something quick.

Winners is also good for stuff on sale.  I found a pair of lilac jeans for my daughter marked at 70 cents!  The checkout lady said they must have been mis-priced but since that's what the tag said, that's what I got them for.
