I think that you're exactly right - we really don't see ourselves in the same way that others see us. I remember when I had long hair & then went short, I would be startled when I glimpsed myself suddenly. I've actually read a couple of articles on Body Dysmorphia and I can definitely understand how you could still "see" and think of yourself as still being obese, even when you're much thinner, especially if you've always been overweight. I'm with you, Beth, next summer will find quite a difference in both of us - whoo-hoo!

i definitely hear you about the pictures. pre-op, i hated the camera. now i jump into every picture! i kind of wish i had allowed people to take more pictures of me pre-op, so i had more "before" shots to compare myself to!
