Nine Month Followup
Just had my 9month followup.
I was pissed off when I went in. Been concentrating on getting my blood sugars under control and as such haven't lost a pound in the past 3 months. (I have however gone from 3XL down to XL and the new trousers I bought two months ago are now too big. )
She was however pleased with my progress. Apparently I've been losing at a rate of 2.8 lbs a month despite this last 3 months stall.
I did however ask to see the dietician. For a reboot. I'm glad I did. It's amazing the amount of bad habits I had slipped back into. Portion sizes, portion proportions and protein counts. (I was getting too much at a day).
Other good news is that I'm off my heart pressure medication... kept on passing out.
I went there totally pissed at myself but came away with a positive self-image. Haven't had that ability ever: negative self-image would just go on and on being compounded by every new disappointment.
When I see the chip van I rue having the surgery. However when I think what I can do now that I couldn't before it's worth every last second.

Before the surgery I kept putting things off. I was never good enough. One of the benefits of WLS is that you start to believe in yourself. Check out my blog:

You are doing great. It is very easy to go back to old habits and that is why I feel it is so important to measure and weigh your food. Even at a year and half I still weigh all my meats. It is a great habit to get into. I am wondering did they measure you at all. Sometimes we are losing inches and the scales are not moving because we are building muscles which weigh more than fat. It sounds like you are losing inches. If they did not measure you start and forget the scale.
The chip wagon was a very hard thing for me to go by and the smell of the fries oh my God. Fries was my big addiction. It is still hard to smell and see them but I always say to myself those will kill me and no one has died from not eating them and it helps me. Good Luck Keep up the great work

Congratulations on your successes to date. I'm glad that the bad habits were identified early and you can easily get back on track without any detremental effects. It's great that you have been able to stop the heart meds, sounds like you are on track to a healthier you!
All the best and keep up the good work.

Congrats on getting off the heart meds!
And thanks for being so open with your follow-up. Just goes to show that, just because we learn it all, doesn't mean we know it all.

the scale is NOT the ONLY indicator of success....you show that by the results of going down several sizes in clothing..remember that weight can also shift around..thus not = in scale loss but yet in looking even more fantastic.
All the best..for future losses
isn't it nice to be called a LOSER..LOL
