Rough couple of days
I've been feeling pretty good, tired, but good. Until yesterday.
DH gave me my Innohep shot as usual, and all of a sudden, I had a wave of lightheadedness, and felt like I was going to pass out. First time that happened. Laid down for a bit, and felt better.
In the evening, I got into a coughing fit. OUCH! I grabbed a pillow and held it over my stomach. Won't be having anymore pink lemonade CL popsicles.
Today, I'm feeling 'woozie' again. Haven't had my shot yet, but did have my first BM in a week (small though it was) - and also some dry heaves. OUCH, again. DH is going to come home at lunch and give me my Innohep shot. Can't wait.
Could it be that my anti-nausea meds from the hospital has worn off? I don't have a fever, and am able to get my fluids in fine.
Oh, and I'm sweating. Haven't had any issues with being cold (unless I'm sitting next to to cold air duct and the AC is on). I was sweating in the hospital, too. That, I think, I can chalk up to peri-menopause.

I've invented a new phrase: Calci Sauce. Where you mix your crushed calcium with apple sauce to get it down.

Hi Beth,
Glad to hear you're (mostly) doing well! I have no idea re. the shots possibly making you light-headed, sorry. My thoughts would be to really keep on top of your fluids and absolutely take some chewable adult Gravol - it not only stops nausea but also dizziness. I can't imagine that any meds they gave you in the hospital would still be working.
Best wishes and hang in there!

also, Sue, some people may be sensitive to the natural sugars even in applesauce, which could cause dumping. blood sugar issues are better solved with a longer term solution, like something with protein in it. Sugary foods can cause spikes and valleys in your blood sugars, which isnt ideal. You're better off with a complex carb and a protein, to keep your blood sugar more level.

Just wondering if you're dehydrated regardless of the fluids...
When's your next checkup with the clinic? If this continues a few more days, I'd suggest you contact them.
Your calci sauce sounds like my medisauce and medigurt - which I took after my H Pylori adventures!
Re: Sue's question.
The shots are blood thinners to prevent blood clotting. They are taken in the subcutaneous fat (like insulin injections) for usually 10 days post surgery...

awesome that you're home now!! Your anti nausea meds have definitely worn off, they don't last THAT long. take some chewable gravol, make sure you're getting enough water, sip sip sip sip. and then sip some more. Remember that you're not getting as much fluid with your food (because you're not getting as much food), so your water is so so so important right now.
do you have a temperature?
