Anyone waiting for a surgery date at St Joe's Hamilton?

I had my surgeon's appointment on July 21, 2011.  I have not received my date for surgery 
yet.
Is anyone else waiting for a date and wondering why it is taking so long?

Waiting for my file to be sent the a date I have confirmed with my centre that the file has not been sent so I know the reason they haven't called!  :)  I am still waiting to see surgeon but I would not hesitate to call and follow up.

I waited for almost a month after meeting the surgeon at St. Joe's before I got a call with the date.  It was super frustrating because they told me that I'd get the call for a date within "a few days".    I got myself all tied up in knots over it and it just stressed me out.  Try to be patient, it will come. :)

They probably haven't received their surgery schedule yet.  I think they get it a month or two in advance.  I got called at the end of June and was originally given August 20, then they switched it to July 22.  That's probably what's happening, but I, too, wouldn't hesitate to phone.  Just tell them you were expecting a phone call a month ago and haven't heard anything yet.

I didn't hear from them for a month, and my appointment was at the end of May, and I got in July 26th.  As above, the later the date in the month, the longer you wait to hear from them.  They get the schedules one month in advance, but due to vacation time, surgeon affability etc, the dates get changed a lot of the time.  Mine was originally for the 22nd, but they had to move it to the 26th (which I freaked about, but realized it was only four days, lol).  You can try calling, but chances are they will just say that they haven't received their OR times yet.

I have my surgeon's appt next Tuesday so this is good info! After my internist appt last week I went back to see Krista and told her I was cleared for surgery by the internist so what was next and she booked me in right away for the surgeon's appt. I'll do the same next week, walk over and ask when I can expect a surgery date. I'm thinking that there might be a little quicker action starting in September because of people being back from vacation and they now have 3 surgeons. That's what I'm hoping anyway!

i see the internist on sept 13 at st joe's ... and will take jenn's advice and go meet krista... and hopefully like lucky megan... i'll get the awesome "eye candy" doc i saw when i first saw the nurse!  i agree tho maybe with summer vacations etc... surgery dates are available??
