Arm Wings - Plastic Surgery

Good Morning,  I finally decided to look into having something done about my upper arms.  I am down about 160 lbs. since my surgery in 2004 and have maintained my current weight for about 2 years.  Although I am not where I had hoped to be, I am o.k. with where I am.  If my arms were not such an issue I could fit a 1 X pretty comfortably.  Sometimes  a sixe X at Penningtons works too depending on cut.  But my arms are an entity of their own!  I have to by tops in a 3X to accomodate my arm size.  I do not have batwings.....I have the entire bat mobile in my upper arms!  As an FYI, an Arm Lift, taxes in, will run about $5650.00.  But due to all the issues I had from WLS and with hospital visits since, the Dr. will not do the surgery until I have further clearance fom family doctor and another internist.  Then, he will have to do the surgery in hospital as opposed to in his on site OR.   This could mean additional fees on top of the $5650. Just seems like nothing is easy.  Just wanted to vent and let people know what plastics will run on an arm lift.  Have a good day!

Hi Linda

I hear you about the batwings and cost of surgery, someone that has had the surgery may post and

give you some more ideas, but I would like to get it done too, but again, the cost is expensive, have

you logged into the plastic site and posted your vent there?

They may have other suggestions for you

Take care and good luck, you are doing great

I had my arms done at the same time as my breast reduction. It was an uncomfortable recovery for me that is for sure but so worth it in the end. If I remember correctly the hospital fee portion of plastics is about $1200-1500. I had mine done in hospital.

Hi Linda,
I have heard that mentioneed before that the recovery is a sore one.  I am sure though as you said it was worth it.  I was shopping last night with a friend and we were looking at the sale dresses in Laura.  Great deals but everything was sleeveless.  Hopefully I'll be sporting those looks next summer!

Linda - have you gone to see Dr. N?  I think his arm lift cost is around $4-5k (including hospital costs).

Personally - I had my arms done with my Tummy Tuck - and the arm recovery was SUPER easy.  I didn't find them painful at all, and I felt back to normal very quickly.

Because I had the 2 surgeries done at the same time I was cut from elbow to elbow with the exception of about 1 inch between my breasts. It was the arm pit area that was the most painful not so much the actual arms.

I just saw Dr N a week ago for a consultation for a hernia, timmy tuck and possibly arms if I can afford it. I didn"t even ask at the time what it would cost but my arms bother me every day. I even wore 3/4 sleeves all summer.!!
BTW Dr N is awesome!!
