I got back some of the results of a few tests I had and the ultrasound technician who did my abdominal ultrasound noted that "visualization was difficult due to body habitus: - oh lordy how embarassing is that?!?! Anyways- the rest of the test goes like this....
Gallbladder is normal. There are no gallstones present. The biliary tree is normal in caliber.
The liver, biliary tree, aorta, spleen, right and left kidneys are normal in appearance.
The pancreas and IVC are not well seen.
And then just for good measure in case the doctor reading it didn't pick up on it the first two times they mentionned it......they added in one more "visualization difficult' right at the end.
I'm hoping this will be one of the last medical tests where I'll have to listen to that again. Geeze.
H Pylori was negative. : )
A question - if the liver looks normal and if during my blood work my liver enzymes were not elevated does that mean I don't have fatty liver disease? I mean't to ask my doctor but forgot! Oops!

When I had my nurse practionner appointment they ended up deciding that I needed to consult my doctor on some abdominal pain I've had off and on over the past couple of months - turns out it's probably just been gas or something - who knows. My own doctor decided to add in the H-Pylori test - she has referred patients for bariatric surgery before and after asking me which tests they were ordering and me saying likely just the ab ultrasound and maybe a sleep study she just decided to tack that on.

I was referred to Guelph and in our package at orientation there was a sheet that said "Tips on how to get to surgery faster". It goes like this...
1. Keep a food journal for one month and bring it to your first visit to the clinic. (Mine goes back to May!)
2. Ask your family doctor to do a blood test called H pylori.
3. Ask your family doctory to order a sleep study and consult.
4. If you already have a CPAP machine make sure your have had a tuneup/check up in the last 18 months.
5. Ask your family doctor to order an upper G.I. series and an ultrasound of your upper abdomen.
6. Have your doctor fax the results to the clinic.
I've completed all of these tests and hopefully it will help me to get there "faster" ... it seems really slow to me!
Good luck everyone!
