Hi
Just wondering apparently I have sleep apnea and need a cpap. According to my Dr. my O2 level drop to 45%. This only happen 4 times in the whole 7hrs of sleep. My question is: I have a friend that is willing to let me use one they have is this possible?
thanks Deb

It would have to be calibrated to the level of pressure you need and you would need to get a mask that fits you (mine particular mask is $200).  Otherwise you should be good.

Edited to add that I pay up front for my mask but my insurance benefits through work reimburse me, and also reimbursed me for the money I put out for the machine.  It may be worth it to see if your benefits cover the costs as you can always sell the machine when you are finished with it.

When I got my machine the govt covered $750 of it and then my work covered the rest plus my mask.  If you borrow or buy used you still need it set at your correct settings.

HI Deb,
There are ways to calibrate the machine yourself.  Google "how to adjust CPAP machines".   As long as the doctor gave you a prescription with the recommended starting rate (I think it's 7), you should be able to adjust your friend's machine to work for you.  The mask will be an issue though, especially if you are a mouth breather and your friend is not.
Good Luck!

Did your doctor order a CPAP or a BIPAP which also provides oxygen. You can't use a CPAP instead of a BIPAP

I was like you, very few interuptions but O2 levels dropped.  I rented the machine for a few months and didn't need it after surgery.

Good Luck
